It's time for LSU leadership (Rousse and Verge) to speak

The brand is taking an absolute beating and being dragged through the mud in the CFB landscape. A lot of it misrepresented or flat out falsehoods. Regardless LSU has been made the face of this NCAA/SEC problem and they've largely remained silent to this point. Leadership needs to take control of whatever narrative they're going to go with and do some damage control. At this point, you can't continue to sit back and let your brand be scoured by one sided narratives.

Yeah, you would think they would have said something by now. I'm sure something will be out by the end of the day now that Sankey/SEC are suing them

We don’t comment on pending or ongoing litigation. They’ve played it smart so far and haven’t made a single comment that can be used against them.
Meanwhile, look what happens when you like to talk. There’s a reason lawyers tell you to not say anything. LSU is just letting Sankey and the universities behind this dig their own grave.

I think the opposite. The longer this has gone on with LSU's position being "we're talking with the SEC every day and working along side them", and everyone else trying to lose their mind, the better it has gotten for LSU in the public eye. More and more people are seeing this for what it is.

Fuuuuck off. The brand has never been more energized. We’ve bitched for years about how the SEC hates us, college football is a shitshow and sucks anyway, and the world has very short attention spans.

I don't mind them talking, but they need to stay the course and fight this. They should start public discussions with the other conferences as long as the SEC plays this game.

I’m sure there will be some movement after the outcome of today’s hearing is known.
Judge could easily rule in SEC’s favor which renders this all moot and we just say “of course we were always abiding by court orders and SEC rules. We’re glad there is no conflict and will not be rostering the players.”
If judge rules in the players favor then it depends on what exactly the ruling is and how explicit it is as far as forbidding the SEC from enforcing penalties. But I assume we will hear something either tonight or tomorrow as far as what LSU plans to do and/or some LSU backed pushback in the media

From a legal standpoint, I don't see it. They have done nothing to differentiate these players from other players the league is allowing to play.

To some degree i get remaining quiet. They weren't parties to these lawsuits. Just interested observers. But with whatever outcome today plus the news of the conference suing, Verge as the AD needs to speak on it. State their position. You can't keep hanging LK out to dry as the only one to answer on this. Will the University/AD defend itself? Support it's coach? You can't keep letting the public story be written for/about you by Ross Dellenger.

The difference is, and I don’t know whether the judge will buy the argument, is the SEC is a more “selective” membership than the NCAA.
It’s bullshite but the SEC never got together and passed a rule saying JUCO players don’t have extra eligibility (Pavia) or extra medical redshirts don’t count (Chambliss). We haven’t had a judge consider whether the conference can include more restrictive rules than the NCAA.
