He did exactly what he should have done, if there wasnt a runner on 3rd.

Barely touched his non-planted leg. Ugh. Such a bad break and needless move.

well, there was no play at all at home plate...runner at first would be automatically out...but runner at 3rd not affected by the play...it is a weird call.

Yeah. Not sure why a runner from 3rd there doesn't count when he's not involved but that's the rule.

Where the hell is the coaching before that play to let him know we fricking WANT to trade a double play for a run so don't give them anything? Just fricking duck out of the way.

Exactly. Don't call that in THIS game. That's a first week of November Bama call right there.

Freeman was basically blocking the bag on that play. Slaughter went out of his way to slide into the shortstop who wasn't on top of the bag.

It is the right call, but I was honestly wondering if it were still a rule earlier in the tourney. Rarely gets called but you can't put that on the imp who saw what he saw.

Only explanation is Slaughter thought there was 1 out already. It's the second time during the CWS he's lost track of the situation.

Against OSU he got an out on a foul ball and forgot about the baserunners until Papierski reminded him.....

Absolutely the right call... absolutely not the coaching fault. Just an absolute dumb play

Well they should of called that shite in the OS game as well. It's the right call but call it for every frickn team. Not giving him an excuse to do it but I promise you slaughter saw that and copied it. It cost us an out in that game and no one and I mean no one said a thing about it. Still a dumb arse frick move, he could at least went into the bag with cleats up.

Right call but still a terrible rule, that you don't see called consistently. Instead they're going to call it in the biggest moment of the biggest game of the year.

Why does a sliding error at 2nd result in changing the fact that the runner from third scored legitimately? That rule makes no sense.

"Oh hey, let's just pretend the guy never actually crossed the plate".

Yeah...it may be the rule but it sure is a stupid arse one.
