I don't understand why it should affect the runner going home when there was no attempt to go home and the runner was basically at home when the slide happened.

What else could you penalize there?

By the letter of the law yes it's the right call but far more egregious plays get ignored. It's not the time or place to make that call

The base running has been atrocious. That and errors will cost them this series .

Right call maybe as he clearly didn't even go for the bag but how does that put the runner back on 3rd???? The play was 2nd and 1st. No eve attemp to go home with the ball

Question since I'm not the most hardcore fan, he was like 6-8" off the bag, his back touched the base, that's considered runner interference?

B/c he slid into the shortstop, not the bag.

well, there was no play at all at home plate...runner at first would be automatically out...but runner at 3rd not affected by the play...it is a weird rule/call.

Batter running to first automatically out. Yes, UF turned the DP, but the interference affects the throw to first, so call the batter running to first out.

Really unfair rule that affects a runner that had zero to do with the play.

What I don't understand about the rule is that the run was going to score regardless so why is he forced to go back
