Has to be Landry. He caused this whole mess. Say what you want about Kelly’s contract, Woodward had the booster relationships to back the contract when it was signed and he had the booster relationships to fire Kelly and get the buyout done. And then Landry blew up Woodward. And here we are.

Agreed. And before everyone rains downvotes onto me, it's ok to be very conservative but also think that Jeff Landry is an imbecile.

Hopefully y'all in Louisiana primary his dumb arse next cycle.

I have rarely seen anyone on this website defend Landry let alone support him which speaks volumes. He’s an embarrassment and disaster.

Do you not remember the other option?

There were multiple competent Republican challengers. Why not Waguespack or Schroeder? Both were good candidates. Yet the mouth breathers went with the dumbest one.

For the record, every other republican candidate despised Landry, because they knew he was a carnival barker whose priorities were broken. And they were right.

He won with 52% of the vote last time.

There are 100,000 fans in Tiger Stadium alone. Take those 100,000 votes away from Jeff Landry and he has 42% of the vote instead.

He will 1 BILLION percent be primaried next time and he'll have a fight on his hands.

The math is there for him to have serious political repercussions over this shitshow.

Gordon on AFR last week pretty much said Landry doesn’t want to pay the buyout

1. If the contract that all parties agreed upon calls for it, it doesn’t really matter what Landry wants

2. If buyout money was coming from private donors, why the frick does Landry care?

Because the republican party of Louisiana endorsed him a year before the race, had a massive war chest and Trump's endorsement.

They went out of their way to box everyone out to clear the path for him. He is a politician for a fact.

It's going to go down like this guys:
Miguez or Fleming will beat Senator Cassidy in 2026
Senator John Kennedy will run for Gov. against Landry and wipe him off political map then appt. either Miguez or Fleming to his seat!
Jeff Landry's political aspirations go up in smoke in 2 years!

And he doesn’t give a shite how much he damages our chances going forward with a new hire. I heard some of his interview with Matt. All he did was bitch about Kelly’s contract and said he hasn’t seen anybody show up with a check for the buy out. So what’s your point Landry? Why bring this up now while you are trying to attract a new coach?

Woodward is literally the reason we are in this mess. Jeff Landry has broken yall so badly that you can’t see how obvious it is that Woodward fricked us. The boosters fricking hate Woodward, that’s a fact. The mother fricker didn’t have the authority to fire Kelly and went ahead and did it anyway. He started all this bullshite. The governor acted like a fricking idiot in the days following but Woodward is the issue here

He cares only about the optics of looking like a noble crusader that’s “standing up for da taxpayahs” when he actually just looks like an idiot since his facts are wrong.

He is only thinking about his political future. He doesn’t care about LSU the school, LSU the brand or LSU the athletic department. Instead of focusing on the shitty roads, the high crime or the shitty schools, he decided that tampering with LSU football is what will endear him to voters. Quite the opposite actually. He’s just too stupid to see it.

A politician through and through. And a stupid one at that. One of the most toxic life forms out there.

I hate to subject you to MM, but it was confirmed in his interview with Gordon, and also in his radio interview with Landry.

Woodward would not have fired Kelly unless he had the booster money lined up to do it. Hate Woodward all you want, but either fire him before you fire Kelly and then go round up the buyout money for Kelly, or fire Kelly and get the buyout done then fire Woodward. You don't run off Woodward at the midpoint between firing Kelly and wrapping up the buyout. We are literally stranded with a $50 million liability and no booster to pay it. That's behind this desperation move.
