Sean Payton’s three years in NY, his offenses ranked 19th on average, and got worse every year he was there.

Then his two seasons in Dallas before getting the Saints gig, those offenses ranked 22nd on average, and again, they got worse while he was there.

He sucks!!

That’s basically what the geniuses on this board are doing.

Ok, then Payton got his HC job and proved his worth.

What happened when Linehan got his HC job?

There has been several references to former players criticizing him. I'd appreciate specific names & quotes; otherwise. I'll consider this as rumors being repeated until turned into real news.

It was amazing, and I love Coach O, but we don't want to be a one and done football program. Only signing 22 recruits is somewhat shocking, considering what the program just accomplished. Coach O talked about putting a lock on LA kids. I think he got a little too greedy with the big-timers when he should have rewarded loyalty. That's not locking down the state of Louisiana.

Payton had proved his worth before getting his HC gig, but any moron with internet access and the ability to go to espn.com at the time would have said otherwise.

That’s the point, the people paid to make these decisions knew about Payton’s coaching abilities despite his offense. Same thing as the guys who signed off on Linehan are 100% more educated and informed than any moron with a tigerdroppings username.

This new guy is not even our HC or OC. Just a pgc. I think our 5* receivers and our top recruits are who play on the field. Coach O got COY for a reason. It's always our fans whining every year about something

You can’t criticize the qualifications of a hire until after it fails? Not that I’m critical, I honestly don’t know enough to think one way or the other on this hire.

You are correct. A lot of these folks are a special kind of stupid. It’s really embarrassing.

If Andy Reid decided to take the LSU PGC job because he wanted less pressure, the know-nothings on here would complain because he got fired in Philadelphia and claim he cracked up in KC or else he wouldn't have left.

LSU won a championship with Saban players. Miles was so dumb he thought it was easy and anyone could do it.

Orgeron has built a champion. Lets see if he can keep it going.

Yeah, but why worry about it now so much that you feel compelled to complain?

Look, I had severe doubts about everything that was LSU football up until the first game last year. Ensminger didn't seem to change the offense much. Burrow seemed to be a middle of the pack quarterback. Coach O seemed lost at times and unable to put together what he said he would. Not that we would have a losing season but I expected the same 3 or 4 loss season.

So now, I'm not going to judge it until we start playing. It's the least I can do since obviously Coach O knows more about it than I ever could. If most were honest, they didn't see it coming together like it did either. So let's at least trust the man to put what he wants together. There will be plenty of time to gripe and biatch and moan if things aren't good. As it stands now, all you're doing is trying to drag them down before they even get started.

So you’re saying that anyone who’s ever won anything never made a bad hire after? Interesting that you’d buck 100 years worth of data to make a completely insane point like that.

Les gave us a National Championship and turned around and gave us Malleveto. We have reasons to be skeptical based just on that.

Orgeron could’ve hired Les Miles to be the new OC and these same people would be cheering it on. That’s the logic they’re using.
