Bruh, you lost all room to talk after your last comment. Just stop.

Again, why are we talking about drafting a QB the next year?
Because that's the line of conversation you interjected yourself into. First poster: "I want the Saints to win the Super Bowl and draft Nussmeier 32nd overall." Second poster: "Why would the Saints draft a QB after winning the Super Bowl?" You: "Bad quarterbacks have won the Super Bowl before."

When someone tries a "gotcha" at another poster, insinuating that it's dumb to think that a team would win a SB with a QB that they would possibly want to replace, and I respond with instances where it's happened, I don't see how it matters whether or not that team knew it was that QB's last year. As bad as he was, they would have had no choice but to replace him, regardless. They won because of their defense, which is the point. There is a world where a team can win a Super Bowl with a not-so-good QB, if they have a great defense, thus quite possibly needing a new QB. That's it. I've noted several times that's it a rarity
It's literally only happened once. Trent Dilfer is the only Super Bowl winning QB to not play for the same team the next season other than those who retired. And even that has only happened twice, John Elway and Peyton Manning.

You are missing the whole point of the poster that I replied to earlier. The only QBs on the roster at the moment are Carr, Rattler, and Haener. I doubt Carr is on the roster so that means Rattler is the QB. If the Saints win the SB ( huge stretch) that means Rattler is the QB to lead them to the SB. No way the Saints would draft a QB in the first round.
As for me being hostile? Lol. Jesus Christ look in the mirror and look at your last post. Manning may not have been what he was but he still was still Manning. Just like Brees in his last few seasons. Defenses worried about him and prepared for him.

It may not be common, but is certainly possible to win a SB and not have a good QB.
It might eventually become more common.
Moving forward, if the NFL continues to put the emphasis on removing violence from the game, the role of the great passing QBs will be even more diminished. Defenses will continue to play CBs at safety as there is no place in the game for big fear inducing safety's to hit receivers over the middle and support the run game. Smaller linebackers and DB's result in teams going to the running game and take what the defense gives them. At some point, teams will begin to focus cap money on building run first teams and instead of throwing $30M a year at above average QBs, they can make do with an average QB for half that.
The logic seems crazy, but the more the NFL takes away big hits on WR's. the more offenses end up running the ball.

Awesome hire for the Saint’s. How does this affect Garrett next season?

It's a perfect situation. Daddy Nuss will have one year as OC with the Saints before taking over for Butter Kreme at LSU in 2026.
Sorry pom pom waving cheerleaders, I've started to reverse and devolve my opinion of BK and have doubts about his ability to get this going and into the CFP at a minimum..........

He will be closer to his dad throughout the year.

It doesn't matter what conversation I "interjected" myself into. When responding to what I said, it matters what my point was, not someone else's. I'm merely pointing out that it is possible to win a Super Bowl without great QB play, and so yes, it is possible to win a SB and find yourself looking for a new QB. All other points about who did this or that in the draft had nothing to do with what I said.

And Peyton Manning, as I clearly noted, was really bad in his last year. So why does it matter if he retired, they knew he was going to retire, didn't know it, or whatever else, when the point was that it was possible to win without a good QB? And I know that isn't the norm. I know it only has happened twice. I specifically brought up both QB's you just mentioned, did I not? I have repeatedly said "I know it's not the norm, just saying it's possible". At no point did I try to make the case that this was a sustainable model. I simply responded to a person who seemed to think such a scenario was impossible, by telling him it was technically possible. That's it, that is all. I'm not sure how it is that this is being treated as something complicated or controversial.

Better question is....
"Doug's younger son, Colton Nussmeier, is a five-star quarterback in the class of 2027.
Colton just wrapped up his sophomore season at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas, but could transfer to a high school near New Orleans because of his father's new gig with the Saints."
Does this steer Colton towards LSU?
