Who recruited this average touch qb?

It starts with the coaches.

No it starts up front and our offensive line has the potential to be the best in college football but there very weak which is a reflection off of our coach.

well zone blocking can be devastating in a rushing game but has issues in passing

even the top zone blocking systems rely on things like bootlegs and limited PA to work. if you want to see a tough mixture, look at the broncos early this year when manning was trying to work his way through kubiak's system

Harris is not the problem. 75% of college coaches would use Harris incredibly well. Coaches have to develop the players. Miles knows zilch about developing a qb. ZILCH.

I can throw the ball better than him. frick....if you can't throw any short to intermediate passes coming out of high school you don't deserve to be playing college football.

His 1st pass hit the defender in the back in the head.

I could not agree more! How about the screen pass to Lf in the second half? Who was Harris throwing it to? It was almost as if he was clueless and had his eyes closed. ( He is clueless) He hit an arky defensive lineman in the back. That play alone sums up Harris and his ability better than anything we can write up.

Harris is playing in the offense that Miles built.

Very predictable.

run run pass

run when the box is heavy and throw when they know you must.

its amazing to me they are as successful as they are.

You do realize that 4 of the last 6 SEC champions had first year starters at QB

But they weren't young. This needs context. I'll provide since evidently your parents are kin to each other.

2009 - McElroy - redshirt junior

2010 - Cam Newton, essentially a once in a generation type dual threat QB in college football. Spent 2 years learning at Florida and a year of playing at JUCO before transferring to AU. It was his 4th year removed from high school

2011 - Jordan Jefferson, senior

2012 - McCarron - redshirt junior

2013 - Marshall - Junior, although he only played a year of QB in JUCO prior to this. He was more of a running QB anyway.

2014 - Simms was a first year started but a 5th year senior

Harris may not be the end all at QB, but the OL play is terrible. You cannot expect a soph QB on his first pass through the SEC to be able to do anything with a OL as bad as ours has been.

Our OL looks soft and fat. Arkansas dominated them every bit as badly as Bama did.

Harris also has virtually no touch on the ball and cant throw short routes to even STATIONARY RECEIVERS.

How in the HELL do you people expect any QB to be proficient at the short passing game when it is WOEFULLY under utilized for most of the season. It takes REPETITION. Short passing should have been of the highest priority early in the season. It should have been worked on over and over in live game action against the teams that we were clearly more talented than.

Do you people expect to just suddenly work it in in November once defenses start to slow down Fournette, and for it to work to perfection? Again... It takes REPETITION!!!!

This is all on Miles and his absolutely horrific offensive philosophy.

Wake the frick up!!!

Then we're fricked big time if Franks does indeed go to Florida, which is a rumor that looks like it may be true with each passing day. The bottom line is that no QB that was recruited by Miles AND developed by his staff has turned out to be worth a flip.

Harris has had some accuracy issues late in the season and he may think he's a little better than he actually is with his comments about feeling disrespected as a passing offense and how they know what they can do and he plays with a chip on his shoulder.

With that being said, basically every QB other than Mett in his last year here has had looked about the same in this offense. LSU finished 116th in passing offense last year. We are 115th this year. We finished 106th even in 2011. Our only decent finish was in 2013 at 45th with Mett, OBJ and Landry. Other than than, it has been the same awful ranking each year in passing offense. That tells me it's the system and coaching.

This fanbase sucks. This kid has done absolutely nothing to my but you guys are ganging up on him. The line and the coaching suck, not him.

You don't get it. It doesn't matter who we recruit at qb.

Best qb we've had recently was taught elsewhere first.

He threw for 271 last night running for his life. That shite show falls squarely on the OL. They have been absolutely garbage since the bye week.
