In my lifetime probably so. I don't recall it ever being this bad even in Jones years.

To be fair, Del Piero was serviceable that season. He was far from the worse player LSU has suited up.

That's absolutely fair and sort of my exact point. We had better success with a walk on tuba player (credit him with improving) than we are having with this collection of players. It's sad.

I'm an old guy, a former sports writer, and covered a lot of hoops in my 87 years. This hire for LSU basketball is a total disaster. It has been unwatchable. I wrote to the man who made the best hire in college history, and expressed my displeasure. As expected, I got no answer. This coach has no clue. First off they have no point guard. Secondly, he has nobody who can shoot a three which is a huge factor that has wrecked a once great game of basketball. How this guy can remain for a second year is mind boggling. He's got no clue.

He just needs 12, 15 years to build his program. Never mind that we’re getting run out of the gym by the likes of Ole Miss and South Carolina. One of which doesn’t currently have a head coach and the other got beat by 40 points this weekend.

That team also had JOB3 and the SEC was horribly weak. The SEC only had 3 tourney teams including Ole Miss and Missouri.

Overall that team might be close to par with this year's team, and there is no way they would have fared any better.

Uhhhh yes they would have. They had JOB3 and Charles Carmouche. We have no one on our team near as good as those two. I'm convinced that you are related to McMahon.

He does not rebound. He would have been a great piece on last year's team, but basketball is more than just scoring.

The 2009-2010 may have been worse, but they only played 16 conference games.

JOB3 averaged 8.7, KJ 7.3. And KJ is a much better shooter with half the turnovers.

To me, a 29 year old fan, Elbert Robinson III was fricking horrible compared to Del Piero who actually tried.

fricking Elbert Robinson III sucked arse.

I’ve never seen a group of young men with less intensity.

Great teams and awful teams take on the personality of their coaches.

No intensity, boring, watching paint dry, are all personality traits of McMahon which are the traits the team shows on the court

I appreciate KJ, but he’s soft and gets pushed around with the rest of the team. With his build he should be dominating down low. He’s not explosive (I haven’t seen him dunk all year) and slow off his feet.

A big problem with this team is that they don’t have anyone on the team that plays with the toughness needed in the SEC. They have no one to challenge them in practice so went they get into games they get pushed around.

It depends on what you mean by worst.

By worst do you mean least talented or one that gets the least out of the talent they have?

Because those IMHO are two different answers.

I didn't think this year's team was the worst, until I watched them in person get blown out of their own gym by a bad South Carolina team. Just sickening-- that game and the game this past wknd v Ole Miss are justification alone for canning Mac

So you are making the case Wade won the SEC Championship, and made the NCAA Tourney vs much better teams, than previous Coaches.
I've had that opinion also. Glad someone else agrees.
