If Nola and Hanover can continue hitting the way that they are right now If the bullpen can keep it together If baby Nola doesn't have a meltdown If Eades is on a much, much, much shorter leash

Especially the Eades leash. I think CPM should let Eades fight through four innings then, the instant he gets in trouble, lift him.

Also, Arby can't keep hitting below 200. We just can't have that dead spot in the lineup.

And play who in center? Foster cant hit either and nearly killed himself in cf last night.

With some good bullpen work and timely hitting...yes to number 7.

He's the only option. Foster is just as bad at the plate and worse in the field.

South Carolina looked pretty good this weekend. Much better than us.

5-4 in 12 innings and 4-3 against unranked Clemson is so much more impressive than what LSU did to #16 Oregon State.

Let's not forget, the onoz Appy St team has two chances to win the UVA regional today and OSU was ranked higher than UVA by BA last week, so a 2 seed LSU faced could be viewed as better than 1 seed UVA. Then you have Stony Brook and UCF going today......Nobody knows nuthin'.

I can hear UK from here, "If we had gotten UM's regional like we should have we would have advanced." Or MSU, or .............

College baseball is crazily competitive this year, anyone can win with a little luck.

Yeah, that was scary, glad he was OK. The last two times Foster has replaced Fields late in games has been 2 E's for multiple bases, he has a difficult time adjusting to balls off the bat. It is amazing when one looks at what PM has been able to get out of this team given its weaknesses and competition faced.

I'm not saying replace him. I'm saying he has to do better at the plate if we expect to win it all. You're right, there's no one else.

The current outfield is decent, but certainly not the worst I can remember
which one was worse?

And of course, we only lose 5 seniors to graduation. Next year should be pretty good
we lose the left side of the infield which is huge in college baseball and the ace. that's monumental to overcome.

do we have someone who can beat out alex edward? if not, that's not a good sign given the above.

Eades is as good as Austin Ross
his last few starts, i wouldn't agree. eades has been struggling pretty bad. now, if the coversation were about cotton, i would agree. i think cotton is pitching better than both eades and ross.

Foster is still a freshman and he's not a centerfielder. I think he can develop into a decent starter for us though. As far as alex edward, well he's my favorite for the Golden Spikes award next year.

Once you're there, it has less to do with pure talent and more to do with keeping momentum and nerves in check. It took Skip many exposures to figure out the secret.

You weren't the only one who though Edward was a liability.
However, you probably are the only one who's actually seen Foster play and still thought he could play CF.

Yes... but we need Manieri to step it up a bit.

Hitting is the big X factor. Bats can disappear for large portions of a game and the pitching has to be good enough not to allow the game to get away.

I think in the end an inconsistent offense will be LSU's undoing.

It would require an enormous amount of "Good Baseball Fortune" Anythings possible but I say no.

DITTO!

I was going to say they'll need a little "luck" to do it but your wording is far more eloquent.

Spelling the HC's name correct would help your credibility.
