I found myself wondering about this last night. I think we have the ability to do it, we may not be the most talented team there, but we faced the best teams in the country in SEC play and came out on top over the long run. This team is very good in close games, becasue of the veterans and experience we have on this team.

I think KG has got to win when he pitches, if he can go deep into the game and save the bullpen for a possible early departure from Nola or Eades, it helps alot. If Nola can give us a good 7 innings then we can save our pen for Eades' start, then in that case, our pitching is good enough to win it all. Nola has shown the ability to do it, he just has to continue to do it from here on out. Eades has to be on a short leash, but even he has the stuff to dominate, he's just not as consistent as the other two. Between Bonvaillan, Cotton, Goody, and Rumbelow, those guys can give us 5 or 6 shutout innings.

Mason needs to come around and Raph has to Raph. Nola and Ross have been super clutch as of late. Hanover is playing pretty well. We need another couple guys to step up. If Jacoby could come around it would be a huge shot in the arm of the offense. Snickeris, Fields, Edward, Dozar, and Moore just need to pitch in and get some clutch hits and every one of those has done it at some point this season, against very good competition.

We just have to go out there and execute.
Hands down the best post in this thread.

I'd feel a lot better about the Tigers' chances if they can eliminate or at least control 2 things that have bedeviled them this season...horrid base running and way too many DPs.

ETA: Right now, the team that's really been impressing me is Arizona.

Cotton isn't a starter and eades is better than McCune. Ross was much better in 2010, not so much in 2009.

I'm worried about Eades.... I love the kid, and he has the potential to be our ace next year, but "something" is missing right now at this time.....and that is what will cost us, if it comes to pass this year......
