CFBS has the game in their weekend recap and basically say its a must win for both teams, and the loser is unlikely to finish above .500. I agree that Malzahn is gone if he finishes under .500, I bet Coach O has enough good will to turn this around so I wouldn't call it a must win. Here's the link to the preview...

Must win for what? What changes long term either way?

That's why I think it's not for LSU... for Auburn their coach is fired if he loses...

It's a must win in the sense that the coaching staff needs to show that it can fix the things that caused two embarrassing losses.

So it should be a must lose for us to keep Gus around

Its a must win for all the rant Chicken littles. I don't think I can take another week of comments about a suck game. I'm not alone.

It's a must win as far as having any hopes of finishing at .500 for the season.

I refuse to accept any games as losses until they're losses, but if they DO lose it will not somehow signal the end of the LSU Football program or my fandom.

Gus isn’t getting fired. His buyout is way too high to justify firing him in a pandemic year.
His buyout is $20 million+ He ain’t going anywhere

This game is huge. I think it may decide a lot with our qb situation going forward.

If Pelini isn’t too stubborn and is willing to move some guys around (Stevens to LB, Clark to outside, maybe try Sampah in the middle, etc), I think it could improve a lot. It seems like every big play goes against Clark, and he was really good last year.

And we have to get better against the run. I’d like to see Guillory in the DL.

It is a "must progress" game for LSU. That usually means a win. This is all building to 2021.

Agree with this take wholeheartedly. Have to build for 2021, I can accept that with all the talent and coaches that left and the oddness of 2020 this season may not go how we want, I am not willing to accept a crappy 2021 season as well...
