No game is ever a must win. It's football. Nobody is dying if we don't win.

This season doesn't really count, so no.

For the long-term, I don’t think this game matters.

For this particular season, I do believe this game will determine if LSU is able to scrape together a mediocre but not disasterous .500 or better season or if the season is going to be a 3-7 complete disaster.

If LSU can find a way to finish 5-5 or 6-4, I think most will chalk this up as a forgotten season that we can bounce back from next year and recruiting stays pretty much in tact. If we end up 3-7 or so, I think it will affect this recruiting class and have impacts beyond this season.

I know we obviously want to win them all, but IMO the realistic goal at this point for the rest of the season is find a way to win 3-4 more games and finish above .500 for the year and keep this recruiting class mostly in tact.

Bottom line is that we still have more talent than any team left on the schedule not named BAMA..... 6-4 at worst......

I hope you’re right...I’d take 6-4 in a heartbeat, today! Sign me up

That would mean we win all 3 games we’ll be favored in and win 1 of the 3 that we’ll be underdogs in

Yeah I don't get it.

Why is everyone putting us at 4 and 5 losses

We have 6 games left...

We will be favored in 3 of those
We will be underdogs in 3 of those

Point spreads obviously aren’t everything, but the most realistic/probable finish for LSU at this point is 5-5. Even if we win one of the games we’re not supposed to, that only gets us to 6-4.

Auburn has already been "gifted" two games. Their fans and boosters know it. Unless Auburn makes a run, I don't see them keeping Gus past this year, even with Covid and lack of revenue.

So it should be a must lose for us to keep Gus around
I hate this mind set. Particularly on the SEC rant.

“Haha auburn beat us! Jokes on y’all now Gus will get an extension haha”

It just takes the fun out of football for me.

Every game is a must win IMO. No matter what season what circumstances. We have the resources to win every single game we strap up for.

There is no "must-win" for LSU.

We won a national title in 2019. That has suggested that Coach O has the understanding of what will work for the program to succeed.

We entered this season with an almost completely different roster, and quite a few coaching changes. The offense has struggled with a few small things (drops, 3rd down conversions, short yardage etc), but we've scored over 30 each game, over 40 in each after game 1. My opinion there, the offense is good to go and on solid footing.
The defense has been ripped apart, as new players struggle with new schemes. It's easy to blame Pelini, but who's to say that if Queen, Vincent, Delpit etc came back, it wouldn't be significantly better?

I think the only "MUST" for LSU this year, is that by the time we're in December, the defense is holding teams in the low 20's, or at least making them work to move on us.

The real question is what 2021 looks like. If we enter that with good talent, and things looked good at the end of this season, we're going to be highly ranked, and should win no less than 10 games. Potentially make a run.
