Is there any chance to adjust 2022 football schedule to have a game before FSU game?

eg, move New Mexico game to Saturday Aug. 27...Florida State gets a game under their belt before we face them...just like UCLA did this year. We should really try to avoid this happening.

I don’t see why not- UCLA was able to do it

U scared of FSU? If so, then we need to do away with our program if we can't use the whole offseason to get prepared for a mediocre or worse FSU team.

If Chicken thinks it's a good idea, then it must be so. But we ain't no cluck, chicken, we'll play anybody anytime

VT did it 1 month before season started in 2002. LSU vs VT national game first game it was being advertised and VT goes out and gets a warm-up game.
Edited : Then they canceled the return game at LSU the next year.

eh, as bad as both teams have become, it'll probably be an epic slap fight

It's not that he thinks LSU is worried about FSU. It probably has to do with why do opening season teams keep doing this to LSU (VA Tech, UCLA, FSU) and LSU never does this.

Last time LSU opened up in the Dome BYU played a games before week 1 and LSU beat the piss out of BYU.

Yep. Forgot about BYU scheduling a cream puff game before the '17 season opener.

I know when BYU 2017 and UCLA 2021 did that, they were playing Hawaii, which lets them have a 13th game. Not sure why FSU can do that.

They need to add a provision in the contract to prevent this from happening again
Second year in a row and didn't BYU do it as well
I know FSU is only playing Duquesne and all you really do is risk injury and it will only be a glorified scrimmage where they most likely play backups entire 2nd half
But this is getting ridiculous

Idk...I kinda like the idea of CBK's inaugural game being against a big name like that. I think it would fit the bill of his entrance to LSU thus far.
ETS: ...be in alignment with his entrance thus far.

It wouldn't be a proper season opener for LSU if their opponent hadn't already played a game

Is the game in 2007 part of the return game they cancelled in 2003?
If so, it helped us get into the BCS National Championship which is awesome

We should be used to it because it fricking happens nearly every time we open with a decent non-conference opponent.
Add someone like Northwestern State, SELU or Nichols and give them a payday.

Agree - I don't understand why we keep agreeing to this. Having that game under our belt is massive. Especially with a new coach and system.

Chicken, we now have a responsible adult HC who is also a student of the game. Worry not.

And they barely won that game too. I was so happy when we beat them, I know a ton of BYU fans here in Utah and they were giving me so much crap before that game.
