re: Is there a way we can figure out for them to let Mike come in the stadium again? Updated

Why not?
Because of a few radicals who think it’s ok to kill human babies but not ok to take a cat out on an evening ride?
Screw em

I just want a CGI Tiger roaming the stands and roaring at kickoff.
Posted on 6/15/24 at 2:36 pm to LSUGrrrl
If we had to maybe the stadium just goes completely silent when he comes in it. It would be crazy intimidating. Just Mike rolling around looking at folks and getting a little fun and hopefully a few roars.

That’s not going to happen, though. And opposing fans wouldn’t keep quiet if they knew we had to.
CGI is the closest we would get.

You know you can use steak to lure him into his cage, hell don't give him breakfast.

Seriously is there anybody on here that even works with Mike. I feel like I may already know the answer to that question.
Somebody explain it (not the politics).
He would be just fine. Horses do it. Cattle do it. Eagles do it. Why can he not?
It’s time for this type of absurdity in society to end.
He will love it and if does not then we wait for the next Tiger. One that has not been babied.
They literally blare music outside his habitat.
They have parades.

If you can't understand the difference between an endangered, solitary apex predator compared to cattle and birds, then I have no idea what to tell you.

LSU is certified as a Tiger Sanctuary for the level of care that Mike gets. That puts some teeth behind LSUs credibility as a Tiger program that shows he's not just a prop mascot. If you want the Tiger program to continue in the future, those are the terms.
LSU aquires Mikes from other cat sanctuaries who are often non-profits supported by animal activism groups. If LSU continued to use Mike as a prop to parade him around in a loud stadium in a small cage, those activist groups may threaten the funding of a Sanctuary who might be willing to provide a Tiger to LSU.

Ok now we are getting some knowledge in here. Thank you.
I still say he would like it. Why does it have to be seen as a bad thing?
It is simply an outing from his cage which is next to one of the loudest stadiums in the country.
If this is the stance then his habitat should not be anywhere close to it.
Are we just assuming he would hate it?
He may love it.

I mean, you have horses, buffaloes, steers, bulls, eagles, hawks, all kinds of dogs…
Just like all those who think we need neon laser light shows, we decided to prioritize fireworks over having Mike on the field.

Even if he gets a little fired up he will be fine. My cat does not like the yard guys. He is fine in an hour. This is literally the problem with society. He will be fine.
Well there you have it. Screw all those people trained in veterinary medicine and who study large wild animals in captivity.
Tvilletiger knows more about their behavior because his house cat is “fine” an hour after his yard guys (non-subtle brag) mow his yard. So much for data not being the plural of anecdote.
We need, nay, we MUST heed his as the final word on the issue…

Ah yes, the pussification of large breed cats is the biggest problem we have in our country. No more participation trophies for them! We need common sense Tiger control!

Comparing a zoo to 100,000 screaming drunks is idiotic.
Posted on 6/15/24 at 4:33 pm to Tvilletiger
I say give him a cat walk like they do at some of the zoos. If he feels like strolling in so be it.
That or add a monkey walk in front of the visitor's locker room so they can fling poo at them.

Again, do you not see the difference in ALL of these things compared to a tiger?
Everything listed above can be trained to a degree and doesn't need to be placed in a cage so heavily reinforced that those sitting in the upper rows of the lower bowl can't even make out if an actual animal is in said cage.

So you are essentially saying feelings over facts.
Hmmm...
Posted on 6/15/24 at 4:50 pm to Broski
I would listen to facts. I think that is important.
Are we sure he hates it?
Could he get used to it?
I have 4 horses and yes they can freak out over something as simple as a hot air balloon flying over.
It would have to be done right.
Yes my cat would love it.
He would be scared at first.
My dogs when they are young are scared of a shotgun.

Not sure how many times it needs to be said that this is such a terrible and hilarious false equivalency.
