re: Is there a way we can figure out for them to let Mike come in the stadium again? Updated

There is only one or two reasons as to why this practiced ended. 1) Mike is a millennial and needs his safe space or 2) the millennials in the stadium feel threatened and would run from the stadium for their safe spaces. For those who can't identify sarcasm...this is one.

I mean let’s make this happen. They have thousands of people outside his cage. The freaking band plays. He probably is sitting there wondering what the hell is going on in the game. He should get to watch. He probably gets bored it would be good for him.
I think it’s time to change this.
Yes this is the off season thread we get every year and will continue to.
It would be so BA if we could get him out there again.
Can you even imagine how used Mike must feel? Sure, we give him a cage and one poster lamented an education. But, thousands show up on Saturday, the band plays "Hold Dat Tiger", and I know Mike feels that energy. Mike wants to be a part of that energy.
I will go ahead and say it. Mike is being USED!! In the very least, get Mike out on the field. Let him roll over on his back and rub his scent into the turf. Let him feel the crowd's appreciation for who he is:
MIKE the TIGER!!

If we want to be an accredited tiger sanctuary we can't bring him into the stadium.

That's not how that works.
I mean, that's exactly how it worked until someone decided to stop.

That’s not happening. It freaks him the frick out. That animal would need to be partially sedated and that shite doesn’t fly anymore. Thing of the past.

I went to my first game in 1958, when I was four years old, and I've been going to LSU games since then. I've yet to find anything terribly exciting or especially interesting about seeing Mike pulled around in a cage. If you want to see him on Saturdays, you know where to find him.

Game day operations screwed all this up with those stupid arse fireworks. Made Mike VI skiddish to enter the cage.
Mike V would actively look for the costumed, mascot Mike and would roar when he would spot him in the stadium (usually near the student section.) Didn’t even need to mic it to hear it in the South Endzone.

We just need to do it somehow. Mike will be fine. He is a big boy.

Yeah because you know that you have to go to work to make ends meat. The Tiger doesn't need to do that, nor even has the capacity to know he needs to do that.
Sounds like it’s time for him to learn.
Like a 24 year old still living at home on the parents dime.
Get a job or get your own place.

That tiger isn’t alive anymore. They’ve never tried with the current one. Mike V loved it.

We cannot let Tiger Stadiums 100th season go by without Mike there.

This thread, which pops up every year annoys me every time. And I am old enough to remember when Mike was brought into the stadium for games.
But it will never happen again and shouldn't. It's not worth the negative attention that would risk the ability to continue having a live mascot.
But then I read this:
And I'm hard as a diamond in an ice storm. Awesome...

I say let Mike parachute in for the 100th Anniversary event!

Do you people never read this board? This same topic gets brought up continuously by morons.

I am not a moron. I just think it is time it changes. This seems like a good place to get it going.

and if he says no?
it’s not a 3 pound kitten you can just punt into the cage.

You calling everyone older than that morons?
Look at the world around you. You think we are evolving or devolving morally? Then let’s put that into context of how Mike is treated.
We are the apex predator.
Mike is a cat.
He will be fine.

Did they sedate him in the past?

LSU stopped “forcing” Tigers into the cage years ago.
if the Tiger didn’t want to go in, he just didn’t go to the Stadium that day.
and more often than not, he didn’t. so we just abandoned the practice.
again, this isn’t a Lab that you can just overpower and pull into the cage with a leash.
it’s a massive fricking carnivore
