is NOT just another conference game they need to win to them. It's way more than that. I'm not sure how to describe the oddity of it.
Do yall seriously not get why Arkansas hates LSU?
66 Cotton Bowl. They had won 22 straight and just had to beat us to be Back-to-back National Champs. How'd that turn out? Yea they were PISSED.
Then we don't play them again until they joined SEC. So every kid in Ark from his 20s-40s grew up hearing grandpa or dad bitch about LSU.
More ya know.

Let me help you out. Do this and your experience will be fine. Everywhere approaching the stadium is hilly. Parking will be $20-$40 in neighborhoods.
Park in the Dickson Street area. There are public lots, street parking, and a parking garage on Spring Street. All public parking runs thru the same kiosk system. $5 is the charge for an all-day parking pass. You don't have to put the receipt on your dash or anything. The kiosk will say that parking is free until 2pm, but you want to go ahead and pay for an all day $5 pass.
Dickson Street area is a 15 minute walk to the stadium at most. You can park, eat, drink and see the downtown area, and save $20-$30 bucks on parking.
The best part of doing this is that post-game car traffic does not empty out into the Dickson Street area. You walk back over the hill, and if you want to hang out, you are already parked. If you want to leave, its the easiest area to get out of.
You'll understand why when you get here. The big campus hill separates the stadium area from the downtown area.
ETA: The city also runs a shuttle to the stadium area if you don't want to walk. It boards out in front of the Walton Arts Center.

Fayetteville is an hour, 45 minutes away for me so I go every time LSU is in town for football or baseball. I think Fayetteville is a nice change of pace mostly because of the scenery and stadium. We always sit up in the 500s and its a nice view to look across the top of the stadium and see the Boston Mtns.
About the only place I've been on Dixson St. is Does Eat Place so I'll defer to others on the rest of the establishments.
Fayetteville is definitely NOT like the War Memorial Golf Course. You leave War Memorial, you have to have a "fight plan" in mind.
Fayetteville has some tailgaters who try hard but mostly it's parking lot stuff and I doubt they'll welcome you, a stranger and opposing fan, in for drinks, food and conversation. Now if those type of tailgates do exist in Fayetteville, then it's my fault that I have failed to walk past them for free beer and food previously. You Razorbacks can correct me and I won't make that mistake again during this Spring's LSU-Ark baseball series.

Retired up here in NW AR. It will be gorgeous this time of year with turning leaves and beautiful weather...cool. The stadium is very "pretty" and modern looking as well as colorful. Not a tradition stadium such as LSU, but one of my favorites outside of Tiger stadium.
Still maintains a reasonable collegiate atmosphere in the college town area. Lots of "throw-back" drinking places on Dickson St..
You'll enjoy your time.

I was there and yes, lots of jealousy still runs deep from those days with the older generation! Young Mr. Joe Labruzo(?) scored twice on them for a 14-7 win if I recall correctly.

What about getting tickets once you get there? If 3 of us leave home without tickets, will we have no problem getting tickets outside before the game?
Posted on 11/10/16 at 3:29 pm to doclsu08
doc, I think it's sold out but there are usually folks selling tickets outside the stadium
Arkansas law prohibits scalping, so you should get those at face value. And yes, Arkansas State Police does place under overs at big games to arrest scalpers.
So, LSU fans trying to sell any tickets, keep that in mind as I believe it is legal to scalp in Louisiana.

This is the method I use. I even do this when I have a campus parking pass, because otherwise, getting out after the game can be a nightmare.
Tailgating is difficult and pre-paid/corporate for the most part, mainly because there is no flat land within several blocks of the stadium.
The only addition I'd make to this advice is when walking from Dickson to the stadium, follow the crowd going across Old Main Lawn. If you walk straight west up Dickson, you walk downhill for a ways, but then sharply back uphill. Going over Old Main lawn is more gradual, doesn't waste energy in distance or elevation, and also a more scenic route.

I went a few years ago and had a great time..everyone we met let us join their tailgate and offered us food..the downtown scene wasnt crazy but it was very easy to pick up women each night we went out

Follow WMR's earlier advice on parking. It is a decent hike for someone who is a fatass because the stadium is in a valley between "The Hill" and West Mountain. About a total of a mile and elevation change of +150ft from stadium to the top of the hill and then -150ft from hill to downtown.
Current state of fall colors from my classroom window:
Its been weaker this year from lack of rain and warmer weather.

It's called local weather man app...when you get to Fayetteville you should try it.

Regardless, Ronaldo, that pic says it all. Well worth the drive for scenery alone.
