That makes it pretty OFFICIAL. It will happen, pending weather and other external factors.

Nice post.

Yep. I'm stationed at Barksdale. The B-52 really sounds more like an airliner. F-16's are probably one of the loudest aircraft.

The B-52 is still a magnificent beast. Most resilient airframe in the history of aviation. It's actually going to outlive the B-1 and B-2. When the old man says "Get off my lawn!", you damn well better listen.

Actually the WW2 fighter P40 flown in China by the”Flying Tigers “ would be more appropriate.

Alabama had a bomber flyover for the LSU game, a fighter off each wing. I believe it was the last year for Coach Shula. It is never to be forgotten.

I went to the Tennessee game last year in Knoxville. It was a night game in November and there was a flyover.

Need to bring out an F104 from Davis Monthan bone yard and put Chuck Yeager at the controls - let him come from Addis at 1000ft/1000mph - break a bunch of windows and set off alarms 5 mile radius of TS.

Makes the house shake, makes the ground shake, and extremely loud. So loud actually that you can be screaming right next to a person and they can’t hear you whatsoever.

I heard that B-52s make the ground shake when they fly really low.

I grew up near barksdale and then bought a house right near the runway. Nothing quite like a B52 flying so close to your house. Used to sit on the patio and watch them for hours.

Have any of y'all seen a b52 flyover?
It's special.
Saw two, once at NOLA air show several years back.
Another at Eglin air show.
Both scared the crap out of me.you don realize just how huge & loud until up close and personal!
And obviously much slower than the jets that whiz by, so it builds up more excitement as seems you're just waiting for it to wreck you! LOL

Big Ugly Fat Frickers !

Maybe the gov Edwards could call Barksdale?

Yea that was the 2005 Bama game in T-town and it was so unexpected and exhilarating. I remember they were building the expansion on one of their end zones and I was sitting on the opposite side. From
My vantage point, it looked like it was flying low enough to hit the new construction.

What time does it get dark on the night of the game? That could be a factor.

It was dark at 6:45 last night. With an extra week it’ll be dark even earlier by the 3rd.

I sure hope so...I have been wishing for a B52 flyover literally for a couple of decades. I have seen videos of one at Alabama and it was the most awesome thing I have ever seen!

I have to say that it must be terribly difficult to get the timing correct in an aircraft of that size.

I just got back to Barksdale and will check this week to make sure, but In the past the B-52 flies over the LSU Salutes event on the parade ground the day of the game. AF flyovers at night are extremely rare.

I was also at the Tenn game last year, that was the Navy. Their rules are a lot more laxed then ours.

We were there and that seemed to fly really low like right over the scoreboard low.

And Steve Gleason being presented Saturday — awesome. No White Flags!!
