Jeff Driskel ended with 4,000+ yards passing, 28TDs, and another 300 rushing and 5 TDs after their bowl game last night.

He runs a spread O.

Kenny Dixon, LT RB, is currently the NCAA record holder for TDs at 87 after his final game, too.

Doesn't matter. LES is in charge.

Why wouldn't he be? He is one of many doing good things at 2nd tier programs.

I asked a former player, who played under Les, if Les called the plays, and he said no. However, he did say he had major input into the offensive game plans every week.

This was Friday night, btw.

Certainly the want is not to place an enormous amount of pressure on the quarterback position. To increase the output of a quarterbacks yardage is to reduce the output of a quality player like Leonard Fournette. Rather, we'd enjoy the execution of passes when that player is called upon. A fundamental change in our offense is not something I'd anticipate. Cam Cameron is a coach I tremendously respect and enjoy having as an asset to our football team.

Why not? BDP came from the powerhouse that is known for its Christmas lights.

He is exactly the type OC we need but it's not going to happen. Also just think about all the top tier QB's who won't give us a second look right now would be lining up to play in a offense like that at a school like LSU. PLus we would stop playing right into the better teams on our schedules hands by running a much harder type offense for teams like Bama to handle. But no, we will keep most likely keep plodding along in the Cam/Miles offense system.

Les is making the decisions. He will only get an OC that has his same set of beliefs.

We can't develop a qb, so we don't get top flight talent. Due to not getting this, we must run the ball a lot more. This only reaffirms Les' offensive philosophy. The problems won't magically disappear when Les is still only O coach on field calling plays.

As long as LM maintains that Attitude, and doesn't bring the LSU offensive playbook into the 21st century, he will gradually lose one more game each year than the previous year, and will finally be fired as LSU's coach, and instead of going out with a legacy of success, he will be fired and despised at what he has done with his stubborness in the last years of his contract.
Would the Tech OC be an upgrade....most assuredly, but LM hires his old friends and keeps them employed, regardless of how poorly they do their job. Les is a painful mess.

Know it's not going to happen, but we have to get a OC like Peterson, who is a complete departure from the Miles/Cam offense, just to let recruits know that LSU is serious about getting the offense side of the ball situation fixed. Then maybe top flight QB talent might take a look at LSU.

Here's a post I made on him close to a month ago. Seriously his track record is incredible and he is exactly what we need.

LINK

Who wouldn't want the guy that coached up Byron Leftwich and Chad Pennington in college?

Who wouldn't want the guy that turned a zero star HS, 3 star 113th JUCO, 3rd string clipboard holder for Iowa for 2 years, into a QB who threw for 3436 yards (58% 7.7 ypa) 30 TDs 13 ints, and ran for 2 more TDs in his one year at LA Tech?

Took Jeff Driskel, a QB that was bad against bad teams, and he put up 4350 total yards 32 total TDs and complete 62.4% of his passes in his 1 year with him.

Jeff Driskel vs Power 5 teams
@ K State - 58.8%, 6.2 ypa 314 yards 1 TD, 19 car 42 yards 2 TDs
@ Miss St - 61%, 7.4 ypa 303 yards 2 TDs 1 int, 10 rush yards

Think of what he could do with one year with Brandon Harris or Anthony Jennings, Travin Dural, Malachi Dupre, Tyron Johnson, Trey Quinn, John Diarse, DeSean Smith, Leonard Fournette, and Derrius Guice.

Look at the offenses that have beaten Bama the past 4 years. All spread offenses.

Eat the bullet on possibly not getting a QB this year. Grab Tony Petersen, put up good offensive numbers in 2016. Then grab a top JUCO QB for the 2017 class, and also get a good looking high school 3 star QB with potential or try to pull one of the top Louisiana QBs away from Auburn/Miss St.

I'm telling y'all Miles and the LSU administration are making this thing much harder than it needs to be.

He is someone that Les should heavily recruit after signing date next Feb. 2016. That Coach will energize LSU's offense, players, fanbase, etc.
We might even reminisce former LSU QBs, Hodson, Davey, Russell, Flynn, etc.

Let's be real as you have pointed out. If he can do wonders with Jeff Driskel's mechanics, we know Brandon Harris is a much better QB.

LSU would have a very exciting offense minus LF not winning the Heisman. Winning the NCAA Championship will be bigger than the prestigious individual award. Les and Joe Alleva need to make this happen, ASAP after the bowl games.

However, there is an if, and, but because of Les ... he coaches the "Damn Strong" team and still influences the play calling. I am not sure we can get around that issue Tiger Fans. Although, it does sound great. F@CKING LES!

Dude there are about 50 college OCs and 20 elite high school head coaches who could be our coordinator. The problem is out head coach doesn't allow them to develop quarterbacks, and run a balanced offense. I don't mean like 2013 either where every pass was 20+ yds. I'm talking about a multi layer passing attack, balanced with a multi layered rushing attack.

Les wants a spread offense?

Hire TP and pay him $400k. He's making $200K at La Tech; you'll be able to give raises to the other coaches who deserve it.

Everyone knows Driskel was developed under Muschamp.
