Now now you don’t think MM can go 47-8 over the next 3 years, do you watch how hard they play.

We have a point guard from Montverde. I don’t think an NBA factory player is a “dud recruiting class”

Scott called last year, year 0 so I’m say at least two more years.

LSU unfortunately doesn’t give two shits about basketball

MM's buyout after next season is $9.76M, so I think he would get one more season after that, at least.

His buyout if fired without cause is 80% of the remainder of his total contract. Here's what he's scheduled to make over the five remaining years of his contract:

2024-25: $2.8M
2025-26: $2.9M
2026-27: $3.0M
2027-28: $3.1M
2028-29: $3.2M

but he’s going to need a good haul from the portal to replace all that he’s losing.
.. how much money does Gordon Mckernan have to donate towards the basketball NIL.. gonna take a Wells Fargo truck and then some to bring great talent here..

Considering we'll still be down 1/13 scholarships for next season because of him, yes I'd say it's fair to blame him.

Would you have rather had an empty spot on the bench or another transfer that could have contributed this year?

We'd be better off getting the next 7 foot tuba player to walk on to that spot. We didn't have one guy on any All-SEC team this year, he needs to recruit his 1-5 better and not worry about spot 13.

I’m sure I’d take an extra player, but that has nothing to with our success or failure.

You could look at Cook as a wasted scholarship at this point as well. Who are you going to blame that on?

Teams can be remade in one year with good portal adds.

Only factual statement you made. Just ask McNeese with Wade. I don’t see this guy being able to do that. A barely over 500 season and one and done in SEC tourney and people around here actually think he did a good job. Laughable!!

It's not but two guys this level are generally going to be role players early rather than high level contributors. With what we're losing that's not good enough.

Good thing we have access to the portal and some players on the roster that haven't come close to hitting their ceiling yet

That's more about making money via concerts and other events than it is improving basketball facilities IMO

Agreed but it's unknown if they'll stay. Really hoping Collins doesn't transfer
