Exactly why I started this thread
Thank God Miles seems to be changing course, otherwise I am really afraid he could become our Mack Brown

Is Les Miles bulletproof now?
Only if he fixes the bullet holes in his offense.
Hot seat will get hot again real quick if he starts losing again next year... and if we don't see improvement in the offense.

I wouldn't say we lost steele to a division rival, it was more like we tricked them into paying for our upgrade
Makes you wonder whether this was all planned. Rather than firing Steele, which is not Miles' style, was he encouraged to seek a job elsewhere? The hiring of Aranda was so quick that there had to be some negotiations going on behind the scenes.

It seems apoarent to me that alleva wanted miles gone but.basically wasn't allowed to fire him, after miles basically knew he was fired.
Once alleva couldn't fire him he sat down with miles an laid out some changes for Miles to make to keep his job. Not goals like wins/losses but coaching philosophy type changes.

Is Miles bulletproof now? I think so, he may be the most powerful man in the LSU system

If they get stinky wins against JSU, USM , and AU, but lose to UF,OM,Ark,and Bama there's gonna be hell to pay.

Heres what Les does everytime he passes Alleva's dumbass in the hall

No he is not, and the 5 people that put up 20 mil to run his arse off will still have that money next year.

LSU is poised to be a preseason Top Ten team with a Heisman favorite at its centerpiece
Who cares about preseason bullshite rankings?
November will show us. Hell, the first 2 months we will see if Less actually has the offense practice plays they'll need in November.

Unless he has a losing season, Miles is here until he wants to leave. Everyone needs to just accept that.
4-4 in the SEC or 7-5 overall will get him fired

He's as bulletproof as a coach who could be fired five games into the season can be.
Les is squarely on the hot seat and will be on it all season.

I think les is now the definitive power broker in the organization.

in 11 we basically let the D suffocate people, then the special teams made plays and the O just pounded away and ran efficiently.
You're understating the point. LSU had arguably the best regular season of any college team, ever. They completely destroyed multiple teams that went on to win January bowls.
The only problem was that there were two teams that year that played at that level. Everyone knew that at the start of the season, and both teams delivered the goods.
Alabama that season had a comparable defense, a more capable offense, but couldn't kick worth a damn. It's a team game, all parts count.
