This board is America
Nothing can be mildly disappointing, passable, or decent.
Everything has to be "haters" or "worshippers", "worst coach ever" or "best coach ever"
I think it is a combination of high intellectual self-esteem, and low actual intelligence.

Wade took over one of, if not the, worst P-5 programs in the country. In less than four years he's turned us into the most consistent program in the SEC, on track for three straight Top 2 finishes, and a consistent NCAA tournament team (we were a lock last year and are in a very strong position this year).
Wade has done a damn good job overall. Yes, he has his weaknesses and things he will still need to learn, but he improved LSU immediately by quite a lot too. I don't think we were one of the worst programs or anything, but we absolutely sucked the year before he took over and were completely lackluster for all but one year between the Johnson and Jones eras (and we were almost no threat to do much of anything).

I have done no research on this, but I would bet Wade has one of the best first 4 year records after taking over a losing program at a power 5 in the HISTORY of college basketball.

The defensive effort has been greatly improved.
I even saw some semblance of a half court offensive scheme, inbounds creativity, and press break improvement.
This was certainly one of the more well rounded performances that I've seen.

People who don’t think he’s a good coach and only a great recruiter just don’t know basketball. It’s a tired cliche at this point. They go to it immediately with no good context.

Not till they get on a streak. According to Lou Brown, three straight is a streak.

It is crazy how they all disappear.
I never wanted him fired, but I am one that said he couldn’t coach defense - or at least has not yet demonstrated that he can. I also said good defense shuts down our offense enough such that it can’t overcome our bad defense.
Yesterday was improved both offensively and defensively. There is still a lot of work to do. We got up by about 15 or 17 (can’t remember) and failed on 3 straight inbounds against their press. Lead cut to 10 I think. Then we started with the everyone out of bounds on end line play. That helped, but it didn’t make the inbounds easy. I think we moved better on offense - a bit more energetic in trying to set screens and move around the court.
Defense was definitely better. Still over-helping at times, but much improved and more energy on defense. Need to improve blocking out for rebounds.
If they continue these improvements they can be a dangerous team.

I wanna experience an SEC tourney title in my lifetime. Can Wade get us one? Been since the 80's if I'm not mistaken

Has a chance, as long as he keeps getting us double byes. Think we have a decent chance at it this year if we can avoid bama

That's after taking over the worst program in the SEC.
It was not the worst "program" in the SEC.

He is continuing to grow as a coach.
If you truly believe this you would not keep every time someone talks about the areas he needs growth.

He is the youngest coach in the SEC and one of the youngest in college basketball. He will continue to grow and learn.
The youth excuse doesn’t fly.

He had his team ready to play. You could see that they had been working to get some things corrected. He still may not be the best in terms of X's and O's but at least you can see he is working to get his team better.

Look hes a great recruiter. But to become a championship contender year in and year out, he's gonna have to coach em up. Jury is still out on whether he can do that.
this program has never been a “championship contender year in and year out”
holy frick you’re stupid
