Is DeBoer a good coach?

Saban has been retired for nearly three seasons now. Is there a talent gap in the trenches? More our coaches decisions? They’re hopeful trending down at some point and Kiffin builds his program over time (although do we really call it a program these days with roster free agency and turnover)? Whatever it is, we still can’t beat them.

I’m convinced a different grad assistant at HC for Alabama could go 9-1 against LSU in 10 games at this point. It just is what it is

Go to Kaleb DeBoer Wikipedia page and look at “HC Record” he’s got a ridiculous record and has won everywhere he’s been. Yes, he’s a great coach, does his team sometimes look physically overmatched? Yes, nobody is going to dominate the trenches every single game anymore like Nick Sabans team use to do. USC got worked by Wisconsin physically then turned around and physically worked Ohio state.
We all want Alabamas downfall, and they probably won’t win it consistently anymore but they will be in a title conversation atleast every 3rd year for the time being. Just gotta hope that Alabama donors and boosters aren’t content with that and they go make a stupid hire.

He has been a winner everywhere he went. He even took his time to go from a head coach to a coordinator to learn more. He went 67-3 at Sioux Falls and won a championship there in 06 08 09 and they haven’t won one since. Good coach? No. A fricking great coach.

He’s a very good coach. The issue was always going to be Bama fans losing patience if he didn’t win a title in 4 or 5 years.
Hell, some of them wanted him fired after last season.

He's taken two different schools to their conference championship games, two schools to the playoffs, and has a national championship appearance on his resume. Not to mention, he is undefeated coming off a BYE week and is 6-2 (11-3 overall in his career) against top 25 SEC teams in true road games. Also, his overall record against top 25 opponents is an insane 20-6. He also has Alabama on the path to make the playoffs again this season.
He's only been coaching for 7 seasons and 5 of those at the P4/P5 level, yet he already has that type of resume. I'd qualify that as a pretty darn good head coach, especially in such a short amount of time that he's been doing this

Inability to run consistently might keep him from winning titles but he’ll win a lot of games.
I’d lay may money he would have kicked FG’s, punted, and not put his defense in crappy positions if he were LSU’s HC

His one major flaw is no doubt his OC who does not try to establish a run and can't establish a flow in the offense. Grubb is not a good OC and did the same things in Seattle before he was fired. They literally won the Super Bowl the year after firing him. If he replaces his OC with someone at least competent, I think he can get things to that next level.

Honestly. He’s elite. The future for Bama is promising.

He’s way more focused and LSU has Crimson Paralysis! It’s absolutely mind boggling to watch us play scared against Bama! It’s the Saban effect that we can’t shake!
