Cut student seating in half

Wrong. The student section is sometimes the only section delivering the noise and rowdiness. The players clearly love playing up to the section by running over to it and getting them fired up. That would be a mistake.

LSU stadium experience is boring as hell. As much as the olds hate the Bama lights, piped in music, etc …it has to happen to keep butts in seats for 4 quarters
The stadium experience has nothing to do with keeping butts in the seats.

Bama being Bama is what keeps butts in the seats.

The band needs to play between every down.

I was in the Alumni Band playing in the stands this weekend.

Tiger Band plays between every down when the Tigers are on offense, when the defense makes a stop, when the opposing offense gets in the red zone, and during pretty much every time out.

In short, Tiger Band plays a lot more now than they did when I was in on the Tuba line in the 80s.

Whatever the problems someone may have with the Tiger Stadium atmosphere, it isn't because Tiger Band doesn't play enough.

There will have to be an incentive for the students to want to attend the games and to stay for the entire game.

LSU can do what Bama does for the student section where during the 4th quarter they show a QR code they can scan to get points. The more points they have the higher priority they have when it comes to getting tickets to any sporting event.

Most of the fans disagreeing with you are too young to remember the atmosphere you are describing.
The amount of entertainment available to fans in those days was extremely limited.
No cable, no 65" TVs, nor the wide range of entertainment.

Not dead, just past its peak.

The sideline seats are owned by corporations who give tigkets out to people who are not that passionate about the games. Those are the seats that are empty by halftime.

Some of the loudest games I have been to were when the stadium held 67,500 people. The stadium at its peak was Florida 2007.

At least the Tigers are not playing in a 90,000-seat stadium like the Rose Bowl where it’s not unusual to have 40,000 empty seats with tarps covering large areas. Be thankful for what you have. I’m thinking about going to the BR for the UCLA game to experience what many of you take for granted. Only other SEC stadium I’ve experienced was at Auburn vs. San Jose State. Surprised at how quiet it was. Kind of disappointing.

There was a time when the game was not on tv. Now every game is on tv and my restroom is only 40 feet away and my soft drink only cost about 50 cents. My sofa is lot more comfortable.

This is the correct answer. Product has been diluted. Cellphones didn't exist either.

you can make 10 month payments interest free. It’s just people won’t sit where they can afford. Tons of cheap options in the uppers available.
You can take in the game on the big screen better. Tv is the problem with actual attendance.

Yes, Clemson sucks this year

Deaf Valley is alive and well

I really wish we'd just acknowledge that it's Deaf Valley and move forward with that instead of just going along with everyone thinking it's Death Valley.

Deaf Valley is much cooler and makes more sense anyway. IDK why we don't correct people.

It’ll never be what it was.

It got extremely corporate.

It’ll still be wild for the occasional huge games tho.

No. Did you forget about the Mississippi St, Ole Miss, and Bama games last year? Yes, it is not the same as it used to be for smaller games but we really haven’t had a big game at home like that this year.

We all get it, attendance is down for Non Con games and people leave early during blow outs. The truth is, if you wanted to watch a game 30 years ago your options were relatively limited which in turn forced people into the stadiums. I remember purchasing games on the JP sports network, it was poor quality but if you were not able to make the game in person and it wasn't being aired on a major network it was your only option. Today, every game is aired through some sort of streaming service. People can now watch from the comfort of their own home, in HD with no restroom lines, great food, as much drink as you purchased, and no traffic.

The days of 100+k people cramming into a stadium for each game is over, live streaming has killed it.

Nothing makes a stadium look worse than empty seats. What do you guys think?

I'll never understand why some of you feel "embarrassed" over seeing empty seats at a sporting event. Some of you must scan the crowd versus watching the game during plays on TV and get more disheartened by that than the obvious gaps in defensive performance.

It seems like some of you would be willing the hand over a natty or 2 if the crowd stayed until the game ends. It's a different world with different people than '78 USC....get over it.

Death Valley is not dead.

Today’s world has developed a society where people are far too spoiled with various means of entertainment being at the tips of their fingers. I’m not speaking ill of anyone, that’s just the world we live in. I think there’s a lot that plays into it that lies within that point.

With that said, in my opinion there is nothing that can take the place of the feeling and experience that Tiger Stadium delivers on a Saturday night when the Tigers are playing ball. Especially in late October and November.

Now… there is definitely a LOT the University can do to make the experience better and more convenient for the fans.. But these things have been harped on for years, and I don’t think they are the root of the issue anyways. I think it’s mainly just how the world is today.. I don’t think it will always be like this.

Check to see how many people now have pregame sideline passes on the LSU side. It's absurd.
