I hope not. I was hoping our new center would bring veteran leadership and solidify the interior line. I am still hopeful.

It’s not the oline that has been an issue under Kelly
It’s been good enough every year

He pulls in highly ranked players, but other than Campbell and Jones they don't seem to develop into the kind of dominant players we really need them to be.

The dude is an elite coach, he would find a job in 1 minute at a high level school if he were to be fired

Their passing game has been prolific so I think Davis should get some credit for that. But we fail in too many short-yardage situations.

Seems like the running back group every year loses its best player or two due to injury or something else, not sure that is OL issue but run blocking needs improvement.

Davis was the OL coach for O’s last season, dumbass. He helped to hold onto them when everyone was looking around after O was fired.

The type of backs we’ve recruited has been an issue, as well. Looking over the last three seasons, only Durham, Diggs, and Emery were perfect for a single-back scheme with a lot of zone blocking. We’ve lacked vision (Jackson) and burst to the hole (Williams and Cain) and you are right- all 3 of our best option spent time injured and in and out of the lineup. Emery was out for a big chunk of the last 3 years.

The lineup we have this year looks as good as we’ve had in a while as far as fitting the scheme. We’ll see if Jackson can improve his vision if he sticks around, but Durham, Berry and Lindsey are quite a trio, regardless. It was also interesting that Trey Holly’s name showed up in the program for yesterday. It would be great for depth if his legal issues suddenly got settled, but who knows there.

Coach Sly would be a "Good" OL Coach in the SWAC or some other HBCU school. (Not SEC-Major College level)

Let's see now, you had 4 OL starters returning,
at LSU, one of whom is a first round draft pick, two will be early-middle round picks, (Dellinger & Jones) and the other one will probably be a middle-late round pick. (Frazier)

You got 4 draft worthy OL's there and you can't run the fricking ball for shite!

Football Occam's Razor: The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. (The OL Coach can't coach and is in over his head at this level of competition.

In over his head, yet, the Orgeron hired Davis remains safe, untouched and a member of the Staff.

Easy there, Jim Crow. Some of these posters weren’t even born when Sylvester was breaking down barriers.

Our OL hasn’t been dominant since he’s been here, but he gets the boys he’s suppose to get.

I’m not sure it’s fair to credit him with the performance issues though. The OL has been reminiscent of CBK OLs. May be a preference of the HC

Are Braelin Moore and Josh Thompson big enough at 300 lbs? SEC DLinemen they'll be facing are a different breed than the ACC and Big 10 respectively.

average at best at coaching. A lot of that also depends on running play design and ability to teach techniques in unison. I have seen very little above average in either. We have good backs with little room to run. I hope we see something different this coming year.

No. It’s why he left Pittman, who’s known as an O line guru.

Neither of those two were dominant. They both were good, at times very good, but you're letting NFL projections overshadow actual on-field performance.

LSU fans are poor judges of oline talent and performance. Y’all just aren’t intelligent enough to understand what you’re watching.

This board swore LSU’s oline in 2019 was horrible.
