Is anyone else terrified that Sage Ryan might be starting at corner?

Buddy was kinda a liability in the nickel and now he might be moving to the outside? Are the other guys really that bad? I feel like there’s not enough people taking about this… Not trying to be a Debby downer, I do think we’ll win, but this is a major concern for me

No, I trust the highly paid coaches to put the right guy out there

I don't think he will.

Chestnut is a career starter and former all american. Tho Moscona has said that the feeling he got was if Duce was our 2nd best cb, we're in trouble.

Stamps has been touted as being better than they thought too. True freshman prolly wont start but may come along as the season goes on.

Ryan may do well at CB if he's starter. Sometimes guys play out of position until they get put in the right spot. IDk.

Nobody is terrified. stop being dramatic.

Correction: TheWalrus is terrified.

Not really. He got beat on several plays last year where he was in good position to make a play, but didn’t.

Hoping he’s on the other side of that this year

Can he handle their 6'8" WR that runs a 4.5 is the question ?

We have to bliz and put pressure on their QB early and often to win.

Yes, I worry about seeing Sage Ryan lined up in the red on against a 6’7 receiver. I think this game will be a shootout personally

Well, if Matt said it it just has to be true.

My fear is that “the right guy” is “the tallest midget” or warm body.

Why single out Ryan specifically?
I worry about any CB in the red zone against a WR that size.

If he is better at CB than Duce Chestnut, then I think that’s a good thing. That doesn’t mean Chestnut is bad, that means Sage is that good.

That being said, I don’t think he starts at CB. He will be on the field when we have 6 DBs & he is a solid backup for any of the other 5 starters

Sure seminoles will scheme so Sage is in single coverage and take there chances….most teams exploited it last yr…Sage always seemed confused last yr and a blank stare

I am, Sage did not cover well in the nickel roll last year. Neither did Brooks.

If Sage earned the spot over the others then I feel he’ll do great. He’s an elite athlete and has a nose for the ball.

Sage actually hasn’t played all that bad. He just needs to learn to look turn his head when the ball’s in the air. He’s usually in good position.

Les Miles was highly paid and played DJ Welter over Kendall Beckwith for like 3 years.
