Title says it all. I know it’s not that big a deal but it pisses me off to no end. And everyone is constantly doing this to us but we’ve never done the same.

Not irrational at all. It’s chickenshit and time for LSU to pull the same move

I get irrationally irritated at all the soy boys here who get their vaginas all sandy over what another team does.

Who cares if FSU played a week zero game?

Stop crying

Second straight year our competition has felt the need to get a jump on what was supposed to be a big week one matchup. The only good thing is they will have some tape out there.

Because it is a significant advantage to have a warm up game?? We do get tape which is nice.

LSU should have used Southern as a zero game or New Mexico

It's actually a big deal and no idea why it's allowed. NCAA should have stopped that long ago and created a uniform start date.

I don’t blame them. We could have done the same thing had we wanted to.

I don't understand why they get to do that. I've heard of the Hawaii rule, that's how BYU and UCLA got to play week 0 games. But how does FSU get to play Duquesne in week 0?

FCS schools and the Hawaii rule allow for week zero games

However, schools can apply for an exemption. Typically that exemption is used for high profile games, like the game in Ireland or another big OOC game.

No fricking clue how FSU got a waiver for Duquesne.

I have a strong feeling that it won’t matter this year. When players report on Wednesday and get out on the ponderosa come Thursday you’ll see. Flint has transformed the entire roster and you won’t see anything like the bullshite we saw in the UCLA game.

It is the Hawaii rule for teams traveling out of the country later during the season. i.e. Duquesne plays Hawaii this season, but did Florida State schedule Duquesne bc of that reason? maybe

The LSU Scrimmage that day is more important than playing a team like Duquesne
That game should be over by halftime but on the flip side FSU could have an injury, that's one risk of doing it especially if you lose a key player.

Did it help UCLA last year? Sure it did but I think the hurricane relocation affected LSU more than anything else.

The tape means nothing. The advantage is the logistics of playing a game. The only downside Is the possibility of losing players to injury.

Now that we have a real coach and a real staff it will be interesting to see how much this plays a factor. Last season UCLA was undoubtedly more ready to play than we were. Was it because they had already gotten a game under their belt? Or was our staff just so unprepared? Or a bit of both?

FSU will man handle their lines easily. FSU will feel good about their oline.

Then they will meet ours!

Kelly just played FSU in season opener last year. He will be ready.

We could schedule Sam Houston in 2025 before we play at Clemson Week 1
