Instead of ad hominem could you explain why it’s such an abhorrent opinion that most spots on American baseball teams be reserved for Americans?

No, I don’t think I will. You’re too stupid to understand if I did.

Take out the Dominicans and the SEC would dominate Major League Baseball just like the NFL.

This question cracks me up every time I see it. The lack of understanding how rosters work in the major and minor leagues on this board is astounding.

To answer your question - No. There are several reasons why he would not be called up when rosters expand. Here is a copy of my response when the same questions was asked in a Skenes thread:

He would have to be added to the forty man roster to be called up to the show when roster expand, that means someone would have to be removed from the 40 man roster and put through waivers (risk of losing said player to a waiver claim). Additionally, that would start his clock towards free agency. For those reasons alone the Nationals would be foolish to call him up to the show.

Add the fact that he is not ready to face Major League pitching. Currently, in Low A ball, Crews is striking out at a 25% clip (10 ks in 39 AB), that would be amplified in higher classifications and would be astronomical in the Majors at this point in time.

IMO, the best case scenario is Crews gets a cup of coffee at High A before the end of the season.

Gonna go out on a limb and say they’ll manipulate his service time to where he won’t get called up until after the season starts next year so that they get an extra year before arbitration and him able to hit free agency.

Due to years of service type shite that he could accrue. Would get him to arbitration years faster I believe. All about the dollars unfortunately.

And this board would be so much better if you never posted. The MLB is supposed to be the best baseball players in the world, not in the USA. The NBA doesn't have just Americans playing. If there were better NFL players from other parts of the world, you can bet your arse they would be a part of the NFL.

But US Citizens aren’t allowed to go to the DR MLB Compounds at 13 and forgo their high school and college years and get drafted at 14 like the DR kids are.

No shite. He has been a pro for about a month. That doesn’t mean people can’t be excited that he is still playing well.

He’s doing what he’s supposed to be doing against A pitching: dominating.

What a terrible post.

But hes not as of now. I think he will be great, but hes batting .237 through 7 games in 1-A. With 10-2 SO to BB.
