4.) Dan Lanning- you never know, he may want to get back to coaching in the SEC. And I (biased of course) think LSU is a little better job than Oregon.

This is impossible unless a godfather like Graves comes in and gifts the program $100M. A guy like Lanning would demand more money than BK

Oregon is a powerhouse financially and pretty much a shoe in for the playoffs most years

The problem with Oregon and all West coast teams is that they’re on the West Coast…it’s gonna be hard for any West Coast team to compete year in and year out. It’s not like days past where they only had to compete with PAC 12 teams. Now that they are in the Big 10 they are having to travel to the east for half there games. Fans and players will tire of this.

Why would we hire another loser who cant win big ranked games? LMAO

No one cares that you can beat 8 unranked teams a year.

I would take a hard look at these:

1) Brent Key (He has GT rolling and playing above themselves for a couple years now)

2) Lane Kiffin (He has the experience and has been close to getting over the hump at Ole Miss. Maybe he can at LSU with better recruiting capability)

3) Eli Drinkwitz (Don't sleep on what he's done as a head coach. 12-1 at App St, then goes to Mizzou and has gone 11-2, 10-3, and is 6-1 right now with a top 10 offense and defense)

4) Ryan Grubb (Great offensive mind that was ready to take over Washington after DeBoer left for Bama, but didn't get it.)

5) Blake Baker (I know we are raw from this weekend, but you can't deny the defense's improvement since he stepped foot on campus. I don't know if he has enough experience to run a program like LSU yet though.)

Make a push for Charles Huff at USM. The turn around there is amazing in just one year with limited resources

We are not firing Kelly. Unless Kelly takes another job which I highly doubt he will whether because hes not wanted or if he doesn't want to leave. We are stuck in this situation for another few years. He will be the Coach going into the 2027 season unless he has back to back .500 or worse seasons.

Yeah, definitely a learning curve taking the job at a lower/middle of the pack program for the ACC as his first HC gig, but he's seemingly on an upward trajectory now. The record would definitely disqualify him from a job like LSU. I just think he's a good coach and seems like a good guy despite his overall record.

Give a 3 year $25 million contract to Kenny Dillingham, the Arizona State guy with an option to extend it. If he is successful, things can easily be re-negotiated to keep him happy. If it doesn't work out, at least you save some money compared to the other options.

Or just say F it. Kiffin it is. Make LSU football fun again.

Dillingham at his alma mater which makes it a harder pull but, he's 31 and making "only" $5 million there. He took a broken program on probation, with scholarship reductions, recruiting restrictions, etc. to the playoffs in his 2nd year. And he'd bring Leavitt with him meaning LSU wouldn't have to go shopping for a transfer starter.

Gruden but we’re so under the gun now we can’t afford any type of risk. Hell Kiffin has a better team than us again with less resources and we’re still saying he’s risky.

Gruden has personality that could pull players / inspire the kids and some actual football IQ to back it up. I’d be way more intrigued to see what he could do with 3-4 years than 3-4 more years of Kelly, or quite a few of the same recycled college coach names. Dude wants to coach too. Id at least see how low you could get him on a deal!

I have your bias, but the honest truth is, LSU is not a better job than Oregon in today's college football landscape. They have more success, more money at their disposal, the gameday environment is top notch, and they have an easier path the playoffs every year.

They're not in a great spot conference-wise though. Having to travel 2-3 time zones for 1/3 of your regular season games can't be easy.

This would be my short list.

Drinkwitz would be a homerun hire, but he's going to hard to pull away from Mizzou. Especially now that they've warmed up to him and his weirdness.

I was told by a huge LSU booster’s side chick that if A&M beats LSU BK is out. My wife said that they are identifying coaching targets and Dan Mullen is at the top of the list. I’ll hopefully get more info when my wife has to “work late” again.

Let me add a bunch of the old names people used to throw on the table that’ll never happen. Just to get them out of the way.

Nick Saban
Jon Gruden
Jim Harbaugh
Chris Peterson
Pete Carroll
