In terms of our road struggles it all comes down to two things : TO’s and starting flat

We do a great job fighting back , making adjustments and responding to a punch away from Death Valley. The narrative we forget how to play football away from home is false

However, the slow starts especially defensively have plagued us on the road this year. Baker comes out with a much softer coverage plan than he should that ends up getting diced. We also tend to start off road games missing tackles in space. Offensively, we started slow at ole Miss but pretty well vs Kentucky we just have to be more efficient in the red zone if drive down the field it must be TD’s instead of field goals that Kentucky gsme is prob different if we scored a TD on the opening drive instead of a FG.

This one is easy but we must limit the turnovers. We had 2 turnovers at Kentucky compared to their 0 and gave up a special teams td( even tho it was egregious block in the back ).

If we simply limit the turnovers, and come out with an aggressive gameplan on both sides of the ball we’ll be fine this team has the talent and mentality to win tough road games they simply have to execute better and start with more urgency

Here’s my two cents:

We’ve played two QBs with a pulse.
We have two losses.

I am holding my breath until our feast or famine defense proves it can contain an offense with a decent-to-good QB.

It’s crazy considering the overall stats, but this is something that quite literally has yet to happen this year.

Defense wins games on the road in the SEC. The defense needs to be able to stop the QB from running for big plays. Stop that and we win.

Score more and limit mistakes with our one QB and we will be fine.

We do that and get 10+ possessions, we blow them out. GA got 12 with three TOs.

Add in not scoring touchdowns in the redzone!

We can't close either half. We give up a two minute scoring drive every time in those close games. Same as the Saints. It's exhausting and the difference.

We were turnover free against Ole Miss until the final offensive play, which was a 4th down pass Leavitt probably doesn't throw if it's not 4th down and in a "score a TD or lose the game" situation. He did have 2 turnovers against Kentucky but Kentucky scored 0 points combined from them. So I wouldn't really sayturnovers were a big factor in losing those games.

Offense started off bad against OM but they started off well against Kentucky, scored on the first 2 drives. The defense had a busted first play against Kentucky but played fairly well the rest of the 1st half until Kentucky's final drive. A PR TD was included in that first half which wasn't on the defense. Same with the 2nd half, held them to 3 points in the half until the 2 minute drill. OM they just played a bad first half overall and then locked in the 2nd half until OM's last drive.

End of half defense really needs to be better on the road. If you want to look at backbreakers and a major reason for the losses, I'd start there.

I agree with the starting out flat; however. The offense needs to attack, attack, attack and convert red zone trips into touchdowns, not field goals. The defense needs to attack, attack, attack, and not play soft. If we do those two things, we will win- obviously limit turnovers, but that’s obvious in every game anyway.
