In 2007 LSU shut out Miss State, had two losses including an OT loss AT Kentuciy

True dat. 2026 Clemson, however, is not the same as Virginia Tech in 2007. Va Tech that year finished 11-2 in spite of their blowout loss in Tiger Stadium, was the ACC champion, and was one of the leading contenders to face off against #1 Ohio State for the NC game in New Orleans.

How beautiful would it be if the season turns to chaos from here on out and LSU somehow winds up in the playoffs with a deep run and unlikely wins happen then we play for and win the championship? Against Ole Miss.

One overlooked factor of the impossible odds that got LSU into that national title game was the fact the we just so happened to have VA tech on our schedule that year. They would have gotten that other bid in the national title game had they not been on our schedule if they had ended up a 1 loss team.

It was also a crazy year for upsets much like this year. I will say it is different in that LSU’s losses were at the end of the year in 2007.
