USM will not start any of the 3 that have started so far. Hard for a lot of you to believe, but Southern Miss is deeper on the mound than LSU. Will any of those 3 make an appearance? I don’t know. If anyone does, it will be Hall. Not because he is rested from a 2 days rest, it will be because he exerts the least amount of energy.

We will be in the 19% that won the first 2 games and didn't win the regional.

I don't disagree.

Our bullpen is fairly decent and I'm not exactly sure why some of our guys can be on or off, they're usually on (Reys and Cooper but Cooper did get into a groove) and that's with SEC opponents.

No disrespect intended to Southern Miss. I have to give y'all credit, you have a deep bullpen.

Sometimes I guess it's overthinking things from our guys or the crowd or a combination of the two.

But your bullpen is nothing to take lightly. That's been proven.

I am wondering how far your guys can go though because Kelly is sure trying to get every last bit he can out of every pitcher.

Y'all certainly are talented though. I have to give credit.

Tomorrow's game should be a good one.

Nobody pitches 3 days after a long start. Nobody. Maybe 1 inning of relief, and even that's in question.

I was wondering the exact same thing. They've played 4 games in 3 days and tomorrows game makes 5 in 4 days. They can't have many quality arms left in their bullpen.

We have only had two good innings at the plate the entire regional. They just need adequate arms at this point. It puts so much pressure on our bats to know they have get 8 runs to have a chance. USM is better on the mound, but our bats are way better than their bats. Notwithstanding how much better we are at the plate they’ve still outscored us 15-12. That’s how bad our pitching has been. Anyone not worried about our pitching has not watched us very closely this year and especially the last 10 days.

As a lifelong Southern Miss fan in every sport, I am accustomed to accepting the pain when it involves playing SEC Teams in any sport. Having said that, our baseball team is legit.

Nothing about LSU’s hitting ever gives me good vibes.

Y’all very well may win tomorrow, but it’s not because Southern Miss is bad at baseball. It will be be because LSU is very good, too!

They are said to be only second to Tennessee in pitching depth. But I don't think that matters, all LSU!

It 100% matters, good pitching beats good hitting any day of the week

I feel the opposite. I’m more concerned about who we have available that will be effective, than who they have.

If you are not concerned about our pitching than i want what you are smoking. Our pitching has been horrible in this regional so far. Case in point, against us Southern Miss has scored 6 and 8 runs. Against Army and Kennesaw St they scored a grand total if 5!. Unless LSU comes out and puts up alot of runs you have to favor Southern Miss in this game. And aside from a couple of innings in this regional, LSU has played horrible baseball. For them to actually be in a winner take all game today is just pure luck on our part.

I would assume that we pitch Hilliard a while, we have Fontenot to relieve and Gervase to close. That would be very quality pitching in my mind.? We have others that could give us an inning and Cooper is pitched out so…

Reyzelman and Collins pitched less than 25 yesterday so they could be available too.

We have the guys we pitched Friday and a few others. They most certainly have the pitching advantage even though they have played more games. They have a fourth guy Ethridge they haven’t even pitched plus they will bring back their closer along with Hall for an inning or so. Bottom line if we don’t hit and have someone step up they willl beat us again.

This has been an eye opener as to how bad our pitching staff is, not super suprised but when USM has 3 guys better than your number 1 and another 2-3 atleast as good as your number 1.

I get it . It’s been bad, but I think as a group , they are better than what they showed this weekend.

I mean we had the 4 th best era in the sec and the pen would be better than that if you separated it.
I think we pitched as bad as we could

I wouldn’t say it was luck. We’ve had big innings like that in most games. They just happened to come when needed in the first two games and yesterday we jumped on them early but the pitching let us down. That game was tied for a while.

It’s not luck when you’ve been hitting good all year in spurts

I don’t think anyone disagrees. That being said, we’ve had 8 guys with an era under 3.50 in the latter part of the season and some were much better than that . Those guys were pitching the worst games of their lsu careers this weekend.

I’m other words, in the regular season, our bullpen was much better than what they’ve shown this weekend.
