re: I'm just curious. In the last 30 years, how many LSU QBs had your complete confidence?

Nobody has mentioned Bert Jones? Was he really more than 30 years ago? Hmm. Must be getting old, me.

Idk mauk threw 3 int in the championship game. I wasn’t always confident in him to make the big throws. But confident we’d win as a game manager.

Davey, Jmarc, Burrow.

Before people scoff at Jmarc. He had like the record for 4th quarter come backs. So he could make the throws.

Mettenberger off the list.

Mettenberger was a very good Qb, but you have to remember the guy was handcuffed by the Les Miles offense. He was the only QB in the Miles era to defy the odds and preform well in spite of the shite offensive scheme. So, he deserves a lot of credit for that. If there is a good OC during the year we had Mett, Landry, OBJ, and others that could have been something pretty special on par with the 2019 offense. Not quite as good I don't think but it would have been damn close. Unfortunately, the defense was down that year, and I remember thinking how stupidly ironic that was.

Meet was being touted as a potential first round pick before the knee injury.

Was the poster boy for making terrible plays/decisions and then following it with an amazing throw on the next play. Felt like a roller coaster watching those teams.

By the end of the 2006 season, Jamarcus was as good as any QB we’ve ever had except Burrow.

Burrow, Mauck, Flynn, Davey, Russell, Perrilloux if he wasn’t a moron. These are the ones that I know could go win us a game.

Mettenberger gave me a lot of confidence especially his receiving corps.

Etling wouldn’t directly lose the game but he wasn’t gonna win the game.

I wouldn't have Hodson the list. Mickey Guidry bailed us out a few times.

Tyler
Davey
Mauck

Mett
Burrow

JaMarcus had a cannon but also rocks for brains so I can’t really put him on there.

Everyone putting Burrow on their list, but I remember in Burrows first season where many people were calling for Myles then.

Mettenberger.

The dude was a breath of fresh air.

Our offense finally put it together while the defense finally had a down year.

This. Mett was an iron man, willing (and able) to throw tight balls into non-existent windows. And do it over and over and over, even when getting pummelled (I still remember that Bama game where he was crawling off the field).

TBH, Mett was helped out by having OBJ and Juice, but damn that offense was incredible. Anyone remember that Georgia game?

Defense was the weak link that year.

Put it another way: If we'd had ANY defense during the Mett years, he would have had way more opportunities to score and fewer situations where he was digging us out of a Chavis-induced black hole.

I think his legacy would be a bit different if that had happened. Sadly, it didn't. But I still think Mett was a great LSU QB.

I think you just described every KC Chiefs fan everywhere LOL!
