The only part of the fanbase that wants to “ignore basketball “ are the baseball first fans . They view it as a legit threat to their prize baseball program . At some point our administration is going to do the obvious thing and do what every other school in the SEC has done and start investing tons of resources into the basketball program . It makes no sense not to , with the conference now becoming the premier basketball league in the country . Most good schools realize you can be good at all 3 of the major sports , and we have it easy as we are already established in baseball, which is the most difficult to get going as it has by far the least amount of interest in most fanbases. But the fact is we have a small portion of the lsu fanbase that wants a bad basketball program and was glad to see Wade get fired and is OK with McMahons results bc the threat of basketball becoming number 2 is over for the time being . At some point that will change , it’s just a matter of when

Our baseball first fans are complete tards with zero perspective.

Is it possible to do it and remain in the SEC?
You have some of the most consistently retarded takes on here. At least you are consistent.

Their’s a portion of LSU fans that hate LSU.

Those are facts . If every AD across the country had to eliminate baseball or basketball, unless they are on drugs , 100% would slash baseball .

You pretty much get a perfect look at the basketball fans on tRant every time we play a game. Bunch of whiny, annoying little geeks who don’t even care about LSU. I’d be completely fine with not even having a basketball program and eliminating that contingent from the fanbase
You sound like a huge pussy. Have you ever seen how our fans on here react when we lose an early season baseball game? Our fans are the same across the board for all sports. We don't handle losing or even being behind well. Your take is retarded.

Men’s basketball is the only sport besides football that makes revenue would be stupid to ignore it.
Rampant stupidity is this boards calling card.

It comes down to this.
Do you want to take away from football and baseball to be a middle of the road SEC basketball team that always makes the tournament but usually never makes it out of the first weekend… with an occasional run to the Sweet 16?
The local talent that makes us so good in football and baseball works against us for basketball

If they wanna build a new stadium they'll have to put money into basketball

Wrong- the money sports which this is all about are Football & MBB. We won the Natty in WBB, sold out or close every home game and still in the red.
Keeping McLoser and increasing NIL is cheaper than firing, rehiring, and NIL$(even with increase). If we win such as a few years back, I want mention W ho W as here because they refuse to believe facts and triggers the McMen backers. Damn straight we are the STANDARD and WE are the Best fans in College Baseball but We are one of the few schools whom makes a small profit. It’s minuscule to what you can make in MBB strictly because of TV contracts of major networks and revenue sharing. There’s is none of this in College baseball. Hell the schools up North don’t give a ratass about baseball. Schools like ULM, North Tx, La Tech make their whole athletic budget off playing Tx, LSU, and Ole Miss once a year in football.
Teams in baseball come here to play us early because of the weather. Everything is about $&$ , I love the Tigers in any sport but the only continuous money makers are Football & Basketball. That’s why we’re keeping McLoser it’s cheaper than the alternative. Two hopes of the Admin are) create a narrative in bball that McLoser needs more money and see if he improves. Second by the end of the NCAA bball tournament WW will be hired by a Power 4 team and then there’s no pressure from fans to rehire. These are smart people running the show, problem is it’s all about $$$ & they think we don’t know what’s going on. If we weren’t King of Kings of baseball the fan pressure on SW would be so high, he’d have to make a move. We Love Baseball & SW loves them too, a majority of the fans love both but SW uses our overwhelming baseball fans as his crutch to slow play this MBB sham.

The Wadepanzees keep posting this so lets see the numbers side by side for mens BB and womens BB.
All I've seen so far is mens BB makes a 100 million a year and womens BB loses 100 million.
So lets see a revenue breakdown for attendance, concessions, tv money etc.

The notion that LSU can’t run with the big dogs goes back to the Joe Dean era. It’s false.
The revenues went up ten percent according to the most recent audit. NIL is pouting in. MBB can help raise even more revenues. Why kneecap it?

Here they come.......walking down the street.
Here come all the MA's and MAMM's that have never been inside an LSU classroom spewing all their acceptance of mediocrity in all LSU Sports outside of Football and Baseball. (All you cute little cheerleaders need to stay off the Rant while posting on the internet from inside your trailer)
LSU has the resourses to be Top 20 in ALL sports and Top 10 in the Big 3. (Football #1 Basketball #2 Baseball #3)
As an Alum who was inside the Assembly Center in the late 70's and early 80's for every game, i can firmly state that basketball was every bit as big an "Event" as football and needs to be returned to its rightful position as #2 in the LSU Sports pecking order. (But has to have the right HC in place in order to do that)
DA McWoodward throwing NIL money at McHallman for another year is not going to work. He's "Urinating in the Wind" by doing that. Waste of time and money.
