For real. I was in 102 (with my whole family). There were plenty of trashy adults yelling STTDB there too. Sure it wasn't as unanimous as in the student section, but I would suspect that it was a rare section in the stadium that didn't have several STTDB chanters.

You may be right. But if the admins get enough complaints or negative public commentary about it, they are gonna do something. And it won’t favor the students.
I’m not offended by the chants. I don’t ever hear them. But if you think the admins will just sit back while people in that section are chanting STTDB you’re a fool. Whether they ban songs played by the band or turn up the volume and frequency of the piped in music, they will do something. That’s my point.
I think they’re money hungry enough to repurpose that section if they think it’s feasible. Why give them a reason or ammo to do so?

Umm this is college football, it is for the students by the students. Eliminate student section and sell to corporate sponsors ect, and you kill the program IMO.

Well you not having any inside info is not a newsflash. You could not have grown up in the student section bc its the student section and this does happen every decade or so when people like you think those darn kids these days bwaaah... And nothing happens. The student section will get scorned, more security, more crackdown on sneaking in liquor, but it remains the Student SECTION. It is not and will never be sections. And if we are splitting hairs here they ARE the current students of the school playing on the field so they aren't going anywhere.

I believe you may be right, but it won't happen as long as the student section is full for most of the game. As for the chants - they will just continue to cut songs out of the play list. But, yes another tradition will die.

I've been at LSU for the past 5 years... not once have the students received an email about yelling STTDB.
Yeah, the admins probably arent thrilled with it, but they haven't even acknowledged it in regards to telling the students something yet.

Agreed. But is it full at all the games as it was this weekend? If the students bail most games and the only time they stay, they’re “chanting”, I don’t think the powers at be will have any sympathy for them.

Yeah but they didn’t announce the changes to the tail gates or parking did they? They pretty Much just did It.
If- and it’s a big IF- they decide to hose the students and use the chants as an excuse, I don’t think they’ll tell you ahead of time. They’ll just do it.
But you’re there and I’m not, so you have a better perspective than I do. Enjoy it while it lasts.

The last thing they will do is stop the band from playing. It’s only brought up by people who go to the game. The fans sing it because the band won’t play it.
There are certain times we should play it. After we get any turnover or huge touchdown. Unfortunately the band is under terrible direction or other constraints. If you brought back the old cheers with a few cuss words, people wouldn’t really notice it all that much.

Even some adults in the NE corner were yelling STTDB Saturday,
My compromise: let Band resume playing Neck maybe twice a game and maybe the students will only do STTDB twice. Students did that chant 4 times, each extended, to different songs.
IT is only going to get worse. You cannot reason with high, 18-19-20 year olds away from parental control in a surreal situation (college student section)

This. Students would do this in a heartbeat.
Hell, only promise to play it 2 to 3 times a year and we'd agree to stop yelling STTDB to random songs.

Being LSU student is a rite of passage. They should be able to enjoy these moments as legally enjoyable as possible.
It's just a shame that their parents didn't explain a few things before dropping them off at the dorm.

Isn’t the football team a college sport for students? Getting rid of the students would be a terrible pr move. The chant is nothing compared to the blast ever news network would have if the student section was disbanded. Moving them isn’t the right idea either. Honestly ignoring it is their best option.

Actually, I think the administration acknowledging it and having an open conversation with student leaders would be the best route to take.
They've never said anything, so we're to assume they dont have a problem with it.
