I'll miss the production value. ESPN production value is garbage compared to CBS and NBC

No question!

Now, a big part of it was because CBS often got the best matchups. But the games on CBS felt like a big event while ESPN's broadcasts seem ridiculously overproduced (in a bad way...like Monday Night Football) and pretty much generic regardless of the magnitude of the matchup. When you heard the CBS theme song you knew it was a big game. Now (likely) the production value for LSU v. Alabama will not be all that much different than Baylor v. TCU

I will say, there's definitely a nostalgia factor with CBS. There were a lot of great LSU games on CBS when I was a kid that are still embedded in my head to this day. Definitely a certain feeling hearing that CBS music on a cool autumn afternoon.

That being said, actually being in the stands for a CBS game sucks lol

Even if Alabama wasn’t playing, he was talking about them

Don't worry, there will be someone else for you to whine about not giving credit to LSU.

I will as well. The CBS production, music, camera angles, and just overall feel of the game is much much better than that of ESPN

Completely agree.

CBS used to be great for college football but Danielson is really terrible and the commercials are ridiculous. If they could get rid of him and ease up on the breaks I’d have no problem with CBS.

In the early days of the Les Miles era Gary was very pro LSU and at times sounded like an LSU homer. Then someone try to steal his Blazer during a game and he started to sour on the Tigers. Eventually he became a Bama dick sucker.

I can attest to that. So much waiting around, and yelling at Red Vest Guy to get off the field so we can keep playing.

both epic and anxiety provoking for me. It's the sound of a tight big time game with rivals

The only thing I won’t miss are the 4+ hour games. No reason a football game should take 4 hours to play. Hopefully, ESPN/ABC won’t have the incessant commercial breaks but I could see it happening considering how much they’re paying for the rights.

Otherwise, CBS’ presentation and production is so much better.

You going to miss 4-1/2 hours of Gary Danielson?

Hopefully, we won't be seeing any more of the score/commercial/kickoff/commercial format. CBS did that a lot, and it really made me mad. 1 commercial break there is fine, but 2?

Only people who have never played the game don’t appreciate the genius of Danielson. Absolutely the best football mind amongst all color commentators.

That’s it! Hated Jefferson pilot because I never saw a cbs game until the first quarter was over.

One of the great fallacies of college football fans that seems to get passed along by people who watch a lot of NFL football.

CBS and the other networks did that for NFL games, but not for college.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but Danielson does have a good mind for the game, and he's a very good analyst.

Whoever gets the analyst role for the biggest SEC game on ESPN will also eventually be halted by every SEC fan base. Each school's fans will insist he's pulling for the other team.
