Watch what happens when Ole Miss gets a mismatch. It’s straight to the paint attacking the smaller player. When LSU gets a mismatch? It’s 5 out while they’re shooting below 20% from behind the arc. Makes no sense.
There’s no way you can watch Curtis Givens and Dji Bailey (at times) play and think Mike Williams wouldn’t give better minutes than these guys. Absolutely frustrating what’s happening with that situation and Ward before the season.

Flau'jae is by far the best player on this team :geauxtigers:

But even if he does it will likely be a long an slow process and because of his personality, which is to be kind, not dynamic - the build up of a passionate fan base would be a slow process as well.
My hope is that if he does succeed here and builds a winning program, it's sustainable and consistent because of the way it was built. Brian Kelly is a good example of someone who's not so charismatic but is (hopefully) building a program in sustainable way.

I truly believe that it wasn't just basketball related and in some part Wade took the fall for the heat around the athletic department as a whole especially football.

I'd like to believe that we have an athletic department that can and should field consistently competitive teams in all of these sports. As well as the fanbase to support.

FWIW, I'm happy and relieved that people are upset about the state of the MBB program. It shows people still care. With a good team, MBB can be one of the most exciting college sports to support. We finally got a taste of what that's like with Wade after so many dark years post-Brady with Johnson and Jones.
It's okay to be upset about how the Wade thing was handled by the administration- it personally felt like a stab in the back. I was at that Iowa St. first round loss and it was truly depressing knowing what was to come.
I think we need to make sure our anger and disappointment aren't misplaced, though. It's okay to be mad about the Wade firing while appreciating McMahon and the current players. In the grand scheme of things, we now know that the program got away relatively unscathed but at the time, the severity being discussed was akin to the SMU death penalty. Nobody wanted to touch LSU MBB with a stick. This was clear with the entire roster (initially) hitting the portal. I think we should appreciate the risk McMahon took in coming here and especially the players that stayed or came in. I'm disappointed at the NIT (especially a first round loss) and this shouldn't be the goal, but understand this is progress and a rebuild from essentially nothing. I'm waiting to see what McMahon does in make-or-break year 3 before deciding if he's the man for the job but the program has trended positively and it deserves a chance.

take a shot every time Wright gets caught ball watching
I will say, there's definitely a nostalgia factor with CBS. There were a lot of great LSU games on CBS when I was a kid that are still embedded in my head to this day. Definitely a certain feeling hearing that CBS music on a cool autumn afternoon.
That being said, actually being in the stands for a CBS game sucks lol

Selling: Two LSU MBB Tickets for Friday
Posted by reauxhit on 3/17/22 at 3:31 pm
I had two friends drop out of going to the game MBB game vs Iowa State tomorrow so I now have two extra tickets. Would be willing to sell for close to face value if it meant it would go to tiger fans.

UT hanging with Texas Tech currently. A win for the horns would help boost our tournament resume
