I’m glad Jay is our HC, but I’ve lost a lot of appreciation for him this year

Yes, he added two to the intimidator, and he should forever be appreciated for that. But this season has revealed another side of him. Pulling pitchers early killing any opportunity for confidence, pinch hitters, riding certain players for far too long and getting out coached by every team we face. We’re never prepared and it seems that we’re just waiting for our chance to give the game away. I look forward to him in the portal, but man this season sucks.

It’s not him it’s the players… however I think he doesn’t have patience for the long game some times. I think his quick decision making works well in high leverage high stakes games but not the average weekend series.

Posters on here act like it's completely outside of the realm of possibility that he may have gotten lazy or at least complacent after last season.

This team is a disaster and it's on him.

How is it dumb when we give up 10 runs every game… our pitching isn’t great or good.

It’s pretty difficult to flip your 2 weekend starters, top pen arm, closer (moved to starter) and 80% of your infield.

100% agree. He needs a good year next year or it will start to get real ugly for him.

He signed them. It's his responsibility to develop them.

He lost his Friday night guy to start this series and was already down his Saturday guy.

I am actually hella impressed they competed with Mississippi State like this on the road short handed.

How did he get outcoached by a team with a better roster? He possibly wins both games if Milam just steps on 2nd or gets the lead runner. And if Milam doesn't knock that throw down.

I appreciate him, because his team did not quit. Very encouraged by what I saw. I'm actually getting really excited to defend Jay from posters like you, because it's 2024 all over again. I live for this.

Mississippi State with their top 2 starters gave up 8 runs each game to a Jake Brown-less LSU lineup.

it's difficult to do all this and win the CWS. it shouldn't be difficult to do this and look like a competent college baseball program, especially at the best program in the country.

Because people that actually know his process know he's probably the hardest working coach in the country.

Reputable staff members have left his program because they were being worked too hard. After a national title.

We’ve lost a disproportionate amount of close games. I’d say that means they are prepared, but have issues between the ears.

Yes. That’s as many titles as any current coach in the game. Consider yourself a very fortunate fan, and hope this lights a fire for next season.

Thought the announcers said State's without their Friday starter as well.

Missed on most of the transfers and have had a rash of injuries to starters.

Even then, this team is losing close games because of mistakes, not getting walked off the field.

I know the idiots will latch onto this and start spouting off about moral victories, but it is what it is. They’re losing a ton of close games and can’t seem to figure out how to flip those into wins.

No, Jay was forced to take those players and it’s been those players that has decided to make the bad decisions after jay had told them the right decision. Also the only reason Jay keeps pulling pitchers so fast is because the pitcher themselves signal to Jay that he’s ready to come out without even realizing he’s still cookin on the mound. You just never see that part on tv.
