The ball he missed down 10-0 for what I think would have been a TD was huge. You kill a lot of that early momentum they had going but instead you punt and end up down 17 before you knew it and then that place was rocking.

I actually get why they were electing to throw the ball to start the game. The receivers were open. Sam was just moving to quick through his progressions and deciding to run. It happens, its his third game in the system. Lane, Charlie, and the staff will continue to develop and work with Sam on that.
But again I understand why they wanted to throw the ball to start the game. Especially when WRs were open. They noticed he wasn't being patient enough so they elected to go to a more simple offensive scheme on the 4th possession to simplify things and he got things going. I would expect him to continue to get better with each week that goes by.

I said the same thing. They were not trying to establish the run the first 3 possessions. And I thought that was part of Kiffens strategy to establish the run early. That and the DB cushion was the most confusing thing about the game for me.
