We tried hiring a clean coach, we got 5 conference wins in TWO full seasons... In today's landscape you cannot hope to compete by running a 100% clean program

i have been pondering making a thread asking these anti-Wade people if they truly believe that Alleva, FKing, and the BOS had honestly no idea shenanigans were going on....pre-dating Wade.

Johnny fricking Jones recruited a Lebron-level talent and #1 player in the nation....as well as another highly regarded 5-star the same year'

to come to LSU

and play for Jones

in the PMac

with a student body that didn't care

and this raised no red flags?

If you are worried about cheating and principles, You should not follow college sports. College sport is no longer a student athlete education focussed. You are supporting a sport where 18 year old are performing for a mere penny to dollar while networks, coaches, NCAA are making money of them. Then they are held by an organization to insitutions and not allowed to transfer.

College sport is morally corrupt and We as fans are hypocrites to pick and chose what is correct for us. Don't follow college sport if you are worried about morals

just ignore that simmons' godfather, David Patrick, had been on staff for 3-4 years before Simmons ever stepped on campus

it was most likely dirty, but at least the family connection and the early hire made the link justifiable

this logic is intellectually disingenuous. i know this is the rant. most are lemmings, but you're better than this.

I may be totally wrong on this but it seems to me that they had discussions when the first leak happened and the administration was good but the latest leak had information tht Wade withheld in the first meeting.

I NEED to believe that our administration did more homework/leg-work regarding the FBI/Wiretap matter last year beyond just saying, "Hey coach, what happened? OK, cool."

If they didn't do the leg-work to know the whole situation initially, they are STILL at fault. They shouldn't ask for the meeting NOW! Let it play out and deal with the fallout AFTER the season. LSU shows ZERO fortitude and are just making snap decisions based on pressure and using the meeting as an out. They're just trying to save face because they didn't investigate further beyond talking with WW after the initial reports, and now they're getting set up by the media to be sacrificed at the altar of corruption because they weren't thorough!

They should stand up for LSU's success and image rather than the virtue signaling, but its too late to say they will wait for all of the evidence. Oh well!

I posted a justice department document, not my opinion, just said "here read this" and was crucified because it could be interpreted as making Wade look bad. Logic, reason, and common sense are not something you want to bring here.

If he hadn't done as much as every other major program to compete, it would have been justification for firing him. The fact that he was effective and brought in a first class competitive team and managed it well is grounds for a serious raise, not for termination. He committed no crime, but his private communications were snooped in violation of his right to privacy by the FBI and then illegally leaked to the press. If they had a warrant to eavesdrop on the person on the other end of the call, it doesn't take away Wade's right to privacy.

Replying to you so I don't have to find the post you replied to...

But the first conversation about Balsa was read aloud in court, the second is a leak of a supposed transcript of a separate phone call that hasn't even gotten close to court evidence yet... Not sure why people are down playing those huge differences

Is there any other kind of morality than "self imposed"?
And why do you care of others adopt a moral standard?

So how does the media "scoop" LSU when LSU should be doing the homework to investigate thoroughly? Are you saying that LSU didn't see this coming or weren't prepared for the likelihood of WW being involved deeper in a corruption scandal in a corrupt sport that he was already named in an investigation? He took a below average Bball team and acquired top level talent in less than 2 years!!! It was plain as the nose on Alleva's face that WW was involved in the machine of recruiting top talent like the big boys!!! EVERYBODY knew this, but they're going to wait until the media leak and feigned outrage to demand a meeting? As if they didn't know???

It's STUPID/SELFISH Louisiana politics. Pretend like you didn't know about the corruption while the gravy train is rolling, then throw your constituents under the bus using some BS excuse!!!
