He didn’t cost us a WS. Pretty sure the one was not called an error and also, we wouldn’t have never been there without him.

Is there some sort of proof that bregman can get to more balls than milam? They both look pretty rangy to me

His range wasn’t that great. I don’t see much difference if at all. Bregman definitely got more chances and assists. But that was the era… more line drives and balls on the ground. Way more fly balls these days. No one is taught to stay on top anymore.

lol. Probably one of the best plays I’ve ever seen by any player at LSU by him on the second base side in right center, whirling around and getting the runner at first

The play Milam and Dickinson made this year was better. To be there, one hand it and throw in the same motion was unreal.

Would you take Jayden Daniels over Kaepernick? Of course you’d take a guy who will hit 300 with 15 bombs over a guy struggling at the Mendoza line - and both very good defensively.

Austin is one of my favorite players to come through LSU. And he’s 2nd in my book.

Nola was really smooth. especially his freshman year.

but LSU has had some damn good SS come through here so he typically gets lost in the shuffle when discussing the greats.

Hard to quantify range. Milam has been absolutely excellent in terms of playing clean. I don't love a small SS. The MLB doesn't either as they generally profile a taller, longer guy to SS. There are balls and line drives that Milam won't get to due to height, but he has exceeded all expectations this year at SS.

How about the SS who hit 40 homers?

That one guy for one year in the era of the hottest bats of all time who wasn’t great at defense?

What about him?

without the ability to see advanced defensive stats, assists is the basic snap shot that would be used.

Bregman at his peak (Jr Season) averaged 3.36 assists per game

Milam this season is at 2.17

Bregman Soph : 2.96
Bregman Fresh: 2.59

Didn’t have as much range. That’s what the reply was to - range. My contention was Bregman has/had more range. He is in fact a little taller and more athletic.
