If you give more to NIL than your church or local food bank, you are part of the problem.

Support the school, the team and the players who want to be here for reasonable compensation. I just can't get on board with fans paying to provide the product and then paying to see the product they provided.

Bring back amateur sports!

I had to take out student loans to get through college. Will be a cold day in hell before I give money to college athletes that get free education, meals, clothes, room and board, etc.

NIL was designed for athletes to be able to do stuff like sign autographs and get paid. Or sell game worn headband or some shite.

The money from the game worn jerseys at the sport shop should go to them.

Why don't we just let people spend their discretionary income on whatever types of entertainment they choose? This isn't like donating to the food bank. This is entertainment money for people.

If I want to buy a painting of a rabid racoon getting a train run on them by a band of Aggies, I will. Don't tell people what to do with their money.

Going to be real entertaining when they give out a NIL deal with all you baws money to a five star freshman and he enters the portal to get a bigger offer from Bama or Oregon

It's not "free" though. They work their asses off for those things.

This is dumb. People pay for all kinds of different entertainment, be it streaming services, membership fees for rec leagues, eating at restaurants, going to concerts, etc. If people want to support LSU athletics, presumably because they're big fans, then power to them.

If you don't want to donate no one's making you but don't get on here and try to make yourself seem all high and mighty and above the rest by brining up false equivalents like church and food banks.

Football yes.

What about all the athletes on sports teams that cost the school money that football covers?

Getting all that shite for free with no return on investment by the school

Yeah let's blame the regular 9-5 workers who just want to see LSU succeed and are will to chip in $10-20/month to help the cause. They're the real problem here!

Tennis players work their asses off, so do golfers, cheerleaders, Tiger Band members. They have their own scholarships. Does LSU get a return on their investment for business and engineering majors on scholarship?

There are no guarantees with recruiting. I think most people know that.

If people want to give to NIL, I don’t understand what compels some of you to fight it. It’s not your money.

NIL - none of us would even recognize these high school players if they walked right in front of us walking down the street.
NIL is a pay for play scam and the ultimate greed.
Send them all to the NFL G league the UFL. Let them work for the ruthless billionaires and get thrown to reality in the streets when it does not work out.

BS! If you suggest to people what to do with their money, you are part of the problem.

Yes. Better engineering students = better program= more attractive for incoming students. Maybe they could eventually keep some talent in state
