Golden built it. Great coach.

Used analytics and a system to find underappreciated guys in the portal.

They spent money but they did it in A very smart way. They only paid Walter Clayton Jr a mil.

Supposedly lsu just gave dedan Thomas 2.5 mil. And don't get me wrong. Thomas is a great player and the guard lsu needs to get things going.

I just like the way florida built that team. I was a huge golden guy when lsu hired mcmahon instead.

So what you're suggesting is to build dorms with an arena on top? I wonder if that trick would work twice.

So all that it takes to have a championship program is new facilities?

LSU had better jump on this morsel of wisdom before everyone else catches on and even the likes of USL and Southern get new facilities that propel them to championships while LSU lives in the SEC and national cellar by clinging to rickety ol’ TS.

Maybe we can quit spending so much on coaches and NIL deals and start plowing that money into facilities instead! Elite talent will still come to BR despite there being no NIL for them because in the end, they just want to ball out in new buildings, after all.

I wonder if Florida being a better program over the last few decades may have helped them as well? Florida has been to 6 final fours, 5 since 2000, they have made the finals 4 times, all since 2000, and won it 3 times. Until LSU starts to make deep runs in the tournament, Florida will be a more attractive destination than LSU. New facilities will help but they will never be the primary attraction.

FWIW, you liked both of them.

Both golden and mcmahon are great coaches.

He would be my choice as a backup mid-level college guy if SW can't pull a Bennett or Drew. He looks like a young and fiery Will Wade type with better X's & O's and a more discliplined offensive approach. ULSU could do much worse.

He is a really good coach who is known for his guard play.

Guards win in march. He is young and knows offense.

Sadly to some this is a frustrating comment. The reason "facility improvements" is such a popular take is because people can wrap their minds around that. They can't wrap their minds around the day to day in and outs it takes to be successful. Its just an easy talking point to use, so that if it does happen and success follows, they can say "I've been saying we needed a new building!" This gives them some sort of validation of knowledge they really don't have.

While also being a total creeper. Has nothing to do with his coaching, which is outstanding, just don’t want this to get lost. Women have seen his dick when they didn’t want to.

Coleman Coliseum is a dump. Alabama keeps getting shut down on replacing it with something new. That hasn't mattered as far as their program building is concerned

I have no idea how his job survived that and can't believe people stopped talking about it for the most part

Have you been to Cameron at Duke? Looks like a library building when you walk up to it. Old and historic looking, but a great (and loud) venue in its own right.

lol if you think that is what gets players to campus these days then you are sadly misinformed. Cameron indoor is dumb gymnasium. Cooper Flagg didn't care

Yes but that also proves that it’s not all about facilities as to why top notch players aren’t coming to LSU.

Kansas has crap facilities yet they attract NBA level talent almost every year.
