They have bigger fish to fry right now facility wise. I would be more than happy if they made small changes like taking on the bleachers and adding chair backs throughout the entire stadium.

That would be a relatively cheap upgrade and would go a long way in improving the stadium aesthetically.

We can assume pmac upgrades aren’t coming since one of us Scotty nuked the program.

The box should be next in line since football is good to go and basketball sadly will always be the 3rd wheel here.

The new Box Stadium was built in 2009 with cost of 37.8 million dollars, fairly new and why would we spend money for upgrades.

I see nothing wrong with small upgrades to the box but that is clearly going to be lower on the list of priorities compared to other things that should get addressed first.

PMAC/Basketball facilities are probably a more pressing matter right now (even with all the drama surrounding the program)

What other things? Football is pretty tucked away and basketball isn’t getting anything for a while.

The other sports shouldn’t be ahead of baseball. It’s number 2 on campus and around 9 or so in the sec facility wise.

but the basketball practice facilities are amazing. They were totally and completely re-done after Wade was hired. I’ve been in every part of the new facilities, they are first class in every way.

LOL, first class in every way. This is so untrue it reads like a parody.

I mean not really. Not saying he’s overrated but he is unproven. You can’t show me any accomplishments he has because all of his hires are new at this point. Also, don’t mention Mulkey because anyone on this board could’ve hired her.

Some LSU fans can’t take off the P&G goggles. They think we have top of the line everything or the athletic department is always 100 percent right.

From a financial standpoint, FB/Basketball/Baseball are going to be at the forefront for investments (due to money they bring in).

I don't like the mindset of ignoring the basketball facilities/programs just because of the recent drama. Long term it needed to be addressed anyways. Baseball can be addressed at the same time but it may not be THE top priority right now.

In terms of the worst sports facility on campus, its definitely the Nat for the swim program.

One thing the Box does have going for it is that any improvement you could consider or contrive can easily be done with minimal if any alteration to the superstructure that is the grandstand.

I don't know if it was consciously constructed that way, but the Box has greatness within it's grasp.

I think there is valid criticism of Woodward but Alleva would not have went out of his way to make a hire like that. He gave up completely on that program and just kept extending Fargas instead of dealing with another coaching search. He was lazy...

Time will tell how Woodwards hires pan out. Hopefully they all do well in the future.

Lol is right. You’ve obviously never been in our basketball practice facilities. I have been throughout them. They are extremely nice.

Do you consider it nice because of the wood floor??? Because it’s really not a very functional facility. No coaches office, no film room, minimal therapy facility, no weight room, no cardio room.
When I went to practice they were sitting on the floor watching film on tv on the wall. Could you imagine the football team sitting in the floor in the indoor watching film in a tv??? No.
There’s no players lounge either.

So what exactly is good about it?

Box ranks low on priority list. It’s the 2nd newest venue on campus.
Need to do the complete overhaul on PMAC

Box also ranks low in conference. Gotta decide where funds will make biggest impact. A heavily sanctioned basketball arena or a baseball program trying to return to the top?

The Box is simply an average to below average place to watch a game

Your thoughts

I'm in Alex Box more than 99% of the Rant. We're season ticket holders in 124 since 1996 with HR Village Parking, and go to 20-23 games per season.
I think Alex Box is great.
My only complaints are the concessions but Fat Boys Pizza is nice this year. I'd like to be able to order a big ole $30 Vodka Tonic instead of 3 $9 Bud Lights.

My thoughts are let's fill the MFer and win a Super Regional and go to Omaha.

Oh another thing. The new Club seats down behind Home and to each side are very nice. The upper back support and the little phone holder in front of your seat is a nice touch.

If you complain about Alex Box and your name's not on the Season Ticket Holder Sign right up front, take a frickin seat.

I would like to see the 2 bullpens moved off the field. I have heard that this is a big priority for Coach Jay.

I disagree and I will tell Coach this when we go bowling on Tuesday. The Bullpens should stay right where they are.

I’d say it should not be a top priority. The stadium is still relatively new. The PMAC should be the higher priority, imo.

Let's work on Tiger Stadium concessions first

The obsession some LSU fans have for concession stand food. I honestly don’t get it.

Now laws to disallow ketchup on hotdogs, I’d certainly support and rally behind that.

Oh you have done it now. You just sent out the Bat Signal for every Will Wade fan on earth. They will hunt you down and destroy you. LSU basketball facilities are Junior High level and was purposely left to rot to destroy Wade.
