We may keep it close at Florida, I dont think we lose by more than 10 or so.

Auburn is going to go in dry. To the tune of 45-9 or something like that...its going to be epic.

Delta or TBL, do you have any insight on how a $12 million buyout got past every level of scrutiny before being presented to O for signature? For all of the faults that Alleva has, I find it hard to believe there's anyone on this planet that stupid to push that through other than Michael Scott.

ETA Sorry if this has already been talked about.

Saban was a bargain hire. The thing about coaches is they were or are all bargain hires until they are not.

Yep. I assume you're talking about when Bama hired him. Most Bama fans wanted Rich Rod.

That's the one mind bending thing we'll probably always wonder about but never get a definitive answer to. A buyout that high gets placed into a contract where the other negotiating party had 0 leverage, and (theoretically) a board that approved it.

I don't think we can afford to fire O until the end of the year. And I'm not talking afford in money but to some how save face. Alleva on the other hand has to go now. We need a new AD in place and settled by the end of the season.

I think you're right if it's just Orgeron. O along with Alleva is just saying "this guy has been making poor decisions for us for a long time, this was one of them, we're starting over".

You are going to start hearing serious rumors of boosters working behind the scenes to get rid of Alleva and O

Local media has turned on both of them. shite will get real if he goes into Bama with a 2-5 record which is a real possibility. Alleva needs to start freshening up his resume.

That's going to be a tricky hire. With the money we would be liable for with the Les and potentially Orgeron buyouts, you're not going to have the luxury, realistically or PR wise, to throw at anyone. Bargain hire, but one that can actually lead your program. Tricky balance.

This is a financial bullet we will have to bite.

This is no time to NOT go get a great and strong coaching name.

Otherwise you are digging a deeper hole.

We're talking about 12 for Orgeron, 7 between Aranda and Canada, and 2 for Alleva. Over $20 million just for the current staff,

Chicken feed in the scheme of things. This program brings in 100 million per year right now. Think of this like your credit score or GPA. Real easy to frick up but super hard to get it back to where you want it once it's in the shitter.

Yes, yes, yes - that is exactly right and we are on the edge of a decline that could take years to build back from. Need to make the correct decisions now.

This time around (with new AD) we need to make sure that money isn't an issue. Sure we aren't going to pay $10M per but we need to not go cheap and be very competitive.

I don’t have inside information on how it got there but I have personal speculation that’ll I’ll keep to myself (incompetence...not nefariousness).

The running story is Alleva just adjusted salary numbers from the Herman contract offer and showed it to Orgeron. When you say incompetence, would he have simply forgot that was in there? And no one else would have caught it?

Saban was in no way a bargain hire. Every sports writer in the country wondered why LSU would pay that kind of money for a coach. Dennis Dodd called LSU crazy to spend $1.2 million for a coach. Sounds cheap now, but it definitely wasn't a bargain hire then. It really set off the skyrocketing of coaches' salaries.
