Total USA deaths from Covid=162,000.
Total population of USA=327,000,000.

162,000÷327,000,000=.000495 mortality rate vs. Total population (if you actually believe the death toll numbers). That is not a high risk especially when you consider that the vast majority of deaths occur in over 50 and compromised immunity categories.

The alarmists have taken over the narrative on Covid and have lost all sense of reality.

AND most of this number is complete BS.

But, like you said, even if we go with the numbers they are reporting, people have gone bat shite crazy all things considered.

And let's put this into comparison with
an apparently acceptable number of deaths which the American Public has been brainwashed into just accepting.

In 2017 the the number of Abortions in the USA was 862,217. That is 862,217
Unborn Children murdered by the same Medical Community which is alarmed by the Covid numbers.

it's going to be opening a can of worms. Its going to be a full fledged bidding war for recruits to whatever schools alumni can offer the best deal for recruits to advertise for their companies or whatever creative way they can think of to "use their likeness". For example Nike could offer some really good deals to Oregon players to "use their likeness'. I'm sure Microsoft could think of a lot of ways to use University of Washingtons players likeness. Even on the same team they'll be some players making hundreds of thousands and others making next to nothing.

Yep. People scoff when you tell them the athletes have no leverage, but the fact is they wouldn’t have a name or likeness if they didn’t play college football at a big time school.

Wanna get paid? Go make a name for yourself in the CFL. Good luck.

Don’t frick up a system that works for everybody right now. Even the athletes. Because if you are one of the 5-10% that make it in the NFL the chances are you’ll be out in 2 years. Be glad you got that free education.

Yeah, uh well uh, you aren't an alarmist who would just make up numbers and throw them around or anything like that. Right?

They have choices, as you do. They can chose to stay home and not play.

Your 1000x comment make you they biggest covid-19 idiot on the planet.

They are already PAID. They get a free college education....the finest medical care....the absolute best nutrition that is customized to their needs....and very nice sleeping accommodations. This is a HELL OF A LOT MORE THAN the other students they go to school with.

Also those made up numbers are low despite most of the deaths were because there was no approve medicines, some states doctors were banned from using 80 year old proven drugs.

No it does not. For these 18-24 year old males it makes its less than 1/2% more deadly.

If a player does not want to play he can opt out.

If the player plays it’s the players choice.

They are not at anymore risk playing football than any other normal kid running around the town at 18-22.

Probably even less with the Covid prevention education they will get, masks testing and discipline to stay out of high risk places this season.

Where do you propose the money is going to come from? The athletic department is about to make a fraction of what it usually makes

I'm finally starting to come around on image and likeness....still have some reservations about how that can be abused, but at least I'm willing to hear an argument.

But flat out just paying them...no frickin way. most universities already operate their athletic departments at a deficit and specifically right now more if not all will.
