If Texas-Texas A&M renews their Thanksgiving rivalry game...

...LSU would be without a conference opponent on the final weekend. Gordy and Hester were talking about this on the radio last night. All our annual conference opponents already have a traditional game Thanksgiving weekend:
OM-Miss St
Aub-Bama
Ark-Mizzou
UF-FSU
Texas has played TCU or Texas Tech that weekend the past few years, so one of them would be freed up. It’s either that, or Tulane, or a rotating in-state opponent. The in-state options aren’t too exciting, but could be a nice breather before the SECCG in the years we make it.
Still a lot of hurdles to clear before the UT-TAMU series is resumed.

I would imagine we would go back to playing Arkansas on Thanksgiving weekend.

They've been trying to establish the Ark-Mizzou game on that Friday though. I guess they could try to get Mizzou to renew their old rivalry with Kansas, which used to always be on Thanksgiving weekend. Kansas-Kansas St. would have to move to earlier in the season.

No one nationally cares about Missouri-Kansas because both are typically bad but it is an historic rivalry that also needs to come back. Get that back and we can go back to playing Arkansas

It's got to be someone we play every year. I don't see us playing a Tulane or some scrub every year.

Don’t go back to playing Arkansas. That Friday fuching sucked. Also they’re now doing a trophy and everything with Missouri.
I would be ok with Tulane if we played in the Dome when we went to Nola and split the profit. We’d lose a shite load of money to play at Tulane.

They used to play that weekend because they were in the same conference....they arent now and aTm is bound by the SEC. They are NOT in a position to just blow off an SEC game.
At least right now they can talk shite. But if they play Texas would own them again, and it would hurt their recruiting

This makes no sense. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and now Kentucky all play in-State P5 rivals that weekend now reason for A&M to not do the same.

I'm sure there are more important things to worry about. But then... everybody hates LSU, so are we now or going to become post-Thanksgiving orphans? Oh! Woe! (Weaux?)

I hated that Friday game. Student section empty. Stadium lethargic. Little to no tailgating atmosphere. I was happy to see it go.
