Bama game losing its luster my arse. I don’t care who’s coaching Bama, I hate them no matter what!

It happens. Florida and Auburn have proven that. Sure, we still want go beat the hell out of them, but it just doesn't mean as much when we do.

Those are still some of the best games to go to.

Do you think that about Ole Miss too? They’ve had a resurgence, so I guess not. Just because a team has fallen off, doesn’t mean they won’t ever be back again. What, you’re to going to quit hating them because they suck for a while?

Now that Saban is gone I expect no real opposition to a 9 game schedule.

An 8 team schedule with 16 teams is just so dumb

Keep A&M because when you pair off the main rivalry games in SEC LSU and A&M are the ones left out. And Oklahoma is Texas’ biggest rival.

If we stay at 8 games, expect either 3,5 or most likely 2,6.

I think either Oklahoma or Arkansas have to be one of our permanents.

Every other team in the SEC has a set opponent for rivalry week:

Bama v Auburn
UGA v GA Tech
Tennessee v Vandy
UK v Lousville
Florida v FSU
A&M v Texas
USCe v Clemson
Ole Miss v Miss State,

That leaves Mizzou, OU, Arkansas, and the Tigers.

I expect Arkansas v Missouri and OU v LSU to continue.

Anther option is for LSU to play a non-conference game on rivalry weekend. Like how UGA plays GT and Florida plays Florida State. Eventually, Oklahoma and Okie State are going to start playing each other again. And with that, once again LSU will not have a primary conference rival. Blowout wins vs Tulane may be LSU's only option.

I haven’t paid attention to what other conferences are doing.

Big 12 & Big 10 both did 9 with 14 teams last year

No, but I do think OU-Texas will stay at the state fair.

So Texas has 2 permanent opponents, OU & A&M?

Our little brothers from Lafayette would want to be this opponent.

That’s an excuse. The cowards don’t want to give up their guaranteed win against Delaware State. And Saban didn’t like that his 3 permanents didn’t include Vanderbilt so he led the charge against it, after saying for years he was for a 9 game conference schedule.

They just don’t want to give up the revenue from the extra home games without an offset in the revenue coming from the TV deal. Don’t play into the hands of those who always accuse the SEC of being afraid to play anyone. It all about the $$$.

There’s no reason it can’t alternate to LSU-Arkansas and Oklahoma-Missouri every other year.

Why would we keep A&M? I don’t even consider them as a main rival.

You don’t but the folks at ESPN sure do. To them it moves the needle more than LSU Ole Miss. which in reality that’s total nonsense.

False. This won’t happen. Anyone who has kept up with this whole thing between OSU and OU should know that both sides won’t agree. Just like Texas and A&M.

It’s not going to happen. OSU felt slighted that OU decided to hitch their wagon (pun intended) to Texas and chose to negotiate joining the SEC without them. OU doesn’t feel the need to continue the series as they have bigger fish to fry now in the SEC

Also my hate for TXam has somewhat dropped a little since Jimbo was canned. I still hate them but just not as vehemently that is. Don’t get me wrong the traditions, yell leaders I’ll never understand or want to, but with Jimbo there it was so easy.
