I think Joe needs to have a talk with CPM . Just hoping this a slump but it doesn't look good.

Alleva is probably only dimly aware that we even have a baseball team.

At minimum, someone should turn the heat up on Maneri. Either the hitting improves or Javi goes. If Maneri loves Javi so much then he can go with him.

Javi hit 271 his first year in the minors, 251 his second year, injured his third year, then hit a whopping 191 in his final year. These stats do not scream hire this guy as a hitting coach. Just saying.

fire him if you want, doesn't matter. Who ever comes in isn't going to do any better. He needs bigger more athletic guys to work with.

Next year will be a very good offensive team, regardless of who the hitting coach is.

Honest question for those who have played at the collegiate level or at least at a high quality high school program...How much influence/importances does a "hitting coach" really carry? It seems to me that guys who are already at this level know what to do and not to do at the plate in terms of mechanics. What does a hitting coach actually provide?

When Mainieri was first hired he had a sh**ty pitching coach who was blowing out everyone's arms in Wiederholt and had his hand forced to go out and hire a quality coach. Apparently his love for Javi is too strong to do the same for our hitting. I'm sorry but a strong hitting coach can absolutely affect your mental approach to hitting and make you better. That dude needs to go back and get that Me Myself and Irene bandaid back on his jaw and roll out of town. Alleva needs to call Dunn tonight and ask who he wants to be his hitting coach because he will be the only coach making the flight back with the team.

At this point, I'd literally be in favor of replacing Javi with a sock puppet.

The sad thing is, that's not an exaggeration.

I would hope they would get Blake Dean back from UNO as a Hitting coach before giving it to Will Davis. We would be back to square one again. You need to know it to teach it!!
