I pretty vividly remember a lot of fans that were reluctant to support O used those exact words given his HC history. So is this really a surprise?

Literally anyone with any demonstrated track record of success as a college HC.

We had one of those who won 114 games in 11+ years and all you did was bad-mouth the guy every chance you got. And now you claim that you'ed take literally anyone.

Stoops and Kelly have to be 1a and 1b

After that Brohm has quietly moved up my list. Mullen, Gundy, Taggert all intriguing.

Chryst, Fleck and Fuente are young, but could be fun hires.

Firing Miles without any type of replacement strategy is going to plague LSU for a decade.

Alleva didn't learn shite from UT firing Fulmer or OM firing Cutcliff.

Jimbo's ship has long sailed plus his buyout is gigantic, a cool $45 mil. Forget Jinmbo, it ain't happened.

is it possible I know people at CAA?

Answer me this. Why would any established coach take the Ole Miss job? They are getting at least 30 scholies reduction over the next 3 years and likely an additional 2 year Bowl ban. The current talent on that team (mainly Patterson) will jump ship as soon as the sanctions are handed out. That place will be a talent wasteland for at a minimum of 6 years. On top of that, it never was a great recruiting place for any coach unless the rampant cheating starts up again which would be school suicide. Unless Mullen is hired away from State, Moo State will own the talent in Mississippi for a long time. There is no upside to taking the Ole Miss job for any established coach.

I also forgot to add that the AD is gone. No way Ole Miss can keep him after getting LOIC.

LSU should fall over themselves if there was a chance to hire Stoops. I just don't think he'll coach again though.

everyone that suggested mullen last year during the search was excoriated as a moron.

he beats us

now he's our number 1.

wtf.

he's a good coach. he's also an a-hole. he also has his team STACKED with 5* talent that was too troubled or academically retarded to make it in their initial spots. this is his big year. this is his run. it's been coming, but everyone overlooks state.

this is his "omg i hope to god i make it before it get runnoft like art briles" year.

Generally coaches are given at least a year grace period. Look at Miami. Took Richt a year to really get them looking good.

are his kids raping people?
because if not I see no similarity to his situation and Briles getting fired.

Wait, what? Damn straight I give Richt a year or 2 to fix things. Richt has a stellar track record.

2 SEC Championships.

5 SECE titles.

10 years as an assistant with FSU, 6 as the QB/OC.

155-55 Record

11 Bowl wins.

VS

O 10-25 no time as a Coordinator

I remember I wasn’t big on Mullen when I dreamed we could do better. I would gladly take him now
