Yes, that was great to hang around but we don't have the leader like Alexis Morris that can handle, shoot, is athletic, and can take over when in crunch time.
You probably thought UT was the real #1 team in nation but some of us, serious basketball players/coaches/referees knew they were no match for USEe. And the result of a 19 point 'ship loss proved it. Baring a miracle or calamity, USCe will probably win the Natty again cause they are better at every position than LSU, as well as everyone else.
JuJu Watkins, Hidalgo, Fulwiley(my gosh, a dominant PG), Booker, Latson, Crooks, Booker and a few others are all better clutch players than anyone on LSU's team. Our bench isn't deep and our stars (FJ4, MW12, & even AM24) seem to disappear often in crunch time. But that IMO is more of a lack of a great PG and a dominant big that puts so much pressure on the above mentioned 3 that we lose offensive efficiency. And our ball handling is horrific, especially against a team that plays good pressure D.
Still a believer in Kim and staff, love the program, season ticket holder and supporter but this isn't our year. Would gladly eat crow if we get hot and win it all but almost certain that's not in the cards.

Exactly

I'd be shocked If they came close to Winning it all. The guards aren't very good. Mulkey missed in the portal

this team unquestionably has more talent than the 2023 team.
That's definitely questionable and it probably all boils down to semantics. This team has more talented depth, 2023 had a more talented starting 5 with an extremely talented point guard and an all-time rebounder in Reese. Those are the things they lack, Aneesah Morrow does a pretty good job with rebounds but she is not as good as Reese in the post role.

Guess what, the talent level has risen at every other major women's team also. There are some very impressive teams out there.

Texas will not win it all
They will not make final 4

I think elite 8 is the ceiling for this team.

but they are not good enough to win a championship.

WINNING IT ALL
We should be happy making it to the Sweet 16.

Lack of a capable PG really hurts. Only way we make any type of run is if SDW gets hot

The team with a good PG will win the championship. (Men & Women)
Posted on 3/10/25 at 12:32 pm to Tellem
I think Texas can make the Final Four, but I do not see them winning it all. Their D is certainly for real though.
IMO, NC will be Carolina with SoCal and UCLA right there. Were LSU to make the FF, that would be an upset, IMO.

How long is Morrow out for?
Posted on 3/10/25 at 12:53 pm to LongTime Tiger
Let's not be hasty and concede the national championship to South Carolina yet.
Many did that when LSU won it all and Iowa knocked off USC-East.
They showed just how vulnerable they can be with a bad home court loss to Connecticut not too long ago.

I was following your logic until you said Audi Crooks is a better clutch player, then it went out the window

Gilbert in particular. If she gets hot, but her problematic turnovers and inefficient shooting hurts us as bad at times
In our games against S.C./TX in particular we didn’t get much outside the big 3. Although Sheppard is coming on very strong lately and will be beneficial for us in our post season run
They’ll get to a sweet 16. Elite 8 is still very doable even with our issues and wouldn’t be remotely surprising. Now final four and natty prob not in the cards as we don’t have consistent or productive PG play overall and lack of production at the 5 is a killer tbh. You need production across the board to win those type of games

And gone because of South Carolina, Texas. USC, UCLA.

The team definitely has its issues, but most said our team that won it all two years ago was not good enough to win a championship. They are a 3-seed at worst and have a coach who has won 4 national championships. So I wouldn't put them out of the conversation. There is no team like South Carolina had last year that looks mostly unbeatable.
